Silent Reunion

If you’ve been out and about in Phoenixville over the last couple of months than you’ve probably been hearing about a local musical act named Silent Reunion. A four-piece consisting of singer/guitarist Pete Benes, drummer Billy Mosteller, guitarist Zak Theis, and bassist Bob Kerr. These individuals come together to form an experience that transcends the traditional and current modes of musical genres and gels together into something they can call their own. Albeit somewhere in between rock, jazz, funk, reggae, blues, and soul there rarely seems a moment when anyone could say “oh they’re a “this” band, or they are a “that” band”. They have found their niche; and their fan base grows as a result from being able to satisfy multiple palates with a single serving.

Phoenixville plays a large part in the inspiration and lyrical anecdotes within the music Silent Reunion creates, and they represent their hometown proudly. Along with the revitalization of the downtown area and it quickly becoming a hotbed of rising local talent Silent Reunion has earned their place along the growing roster and will continue to include their life experiences and musings about the town in the content of their musical writing, furthering the connection between the artists and their respective audience. With recent performances at venues such as Frank’s Bar & Grill, The Pickering Creek Inn, Steel City Coffeehouse, and The Lighthouse Lounge, the locals gather thicker and thicker to witness the sparkling gems these locals pull out of the soot and ashes to represent the beauty that comes from destruction and decay.

Silent Reunion has released their freshman album “HUSH” in February (which was recorded and mastered right here in Phoenixville at Freemont Studios) and is available for download at iTunes and ReverbNation.com. Samples of their music are available at these sights as well. Silent Reunion is currently involved in multiple projects at the moment including plans for some small east coast tours to promote themselves to a wider audience base as well shooting for a music video for the song “A Prayer”. While performing locally as regularly as they can this does not seem to be slowing the writing process and new material is coming out the rehearsal space and finding its way onstage at their shows; and the fans response seems to be that the best is certainly yet to come for this up and coming local outfit.
