Silky Seymour

Desire. The world premiere of U2's music video, 'Desire', lit a fire into a then 6 year olds mind and heart, that to this day still rages hot. It was at that moment that Peter Soros knew his destiny was to be in a band and make great, inspiring music. Silky Seymour is the vessel for that desire.
Fortunately, great music was played constantly at home. American and British music such as The Doors, Santana, Simon & Garfunkel, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Bob Dylan, The Ramones, The Clash and The Cure were on heavy rotation in this young boys household.

Peter was born to an Italian mother and a Romanian father, both European immigrants. Fortunately, great music was played constantly at home. American and British music such as The Doors, Santana, Simon & Garfunkel, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Bob Dylan, The Ramones, The Clash and The Cure were on heavy rotation in this young boys household.
But finding your roots when being a first generation American has its difficulties. It was, and still is, through music that Peter keeps in touch with his roots, by listening to his parents and grandparents native music. From the sublime compositions of Puccini, Vivaldi, Morricone, and Verdi, to the great Italian songwriters such as Celentano, Don Backy, Rosa Balistreri and Lucio Battisti. And highly acclaimed vocalists like Pavarotti, Bocelli and Mina.

Unfortunately no one in the family was a serious musician or even a hobbyist musician.
So it wasn't until Peter received an electric guitar for his 13th birthday, that the sculpting of a musician/songwriter truly began.
Classical and blues/rock guitar lessons shortly followed when Peter's mother saw his persistence with the guitar. He continued with various teachers with expertise in classical/flamenco and blues/rock, and even studied under Steve Miller's former guitar player.

At 17 years old, Peter finished high school early by home schooling himself and then moving to Italy. Their he enrolled in local art school and the conservatory of music in Palermo. The pressure of expressing oneself professionally and eloquently in a second language, proved to be difficult, but shocked the natives with his persistence, passion and quality.

Peter's return to the USA was a month after 9/11. The world was changing and the laid back pace in Italy was so too slow for an ambitious young man with lots of plans for the future. Peter quickly began taking singing lessons and concentrated on songwriting and recording. This led him joining a few bands and honing his stage performance for maximum musical display in the tradition of Hendrix and Townsend.

Having recorded music with various groups, Peter struck out on his own. Writing, performing, producing and releasing his music on iTunes and Amazon. He absorbs much inspiration from current bands/artist such as Muse, The Mars Volta, Mike Patton, Brandi Carlile, RATM, and the late Jeff Buckley.

Silky Seymour is THE band that has a deep passion for creating timeless, positive, energetic and powerful music, that would shake the foundations of a sold-out stadium, and also reach to the depths of the human soul and strike the chord that resonates in us all.
