Silver Pockets Full are tying the 70's back to todays music and hope to attend the stages of your festivals and clubvenues real soon.

Biography

Silver Pockets Full is currently touring in support of their full-length independent release “Where We’re Coming From” which was released on Record Store Day 2016.

Their first album and live performances are praised by several record stores, live music programmers, radio stations and fan base as “soulful, catchy and ‘feel good’ American-roots music”. Their close harmony vocals remind you of iconic accompanied singers like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and The Jayhawks, while their musical compositions could be compared to bands like Counting Crows or Bruce Springsteen’s E-street band.

As they declare themselves: “It doesn’t surprise us, we were influenced by these American bands and love the music from that pioneering era. But it’s up to the audience to label us and our album in the present time. We just enjoy creating music together as a band, anytime!”.

And that’s what you get when go out to see them in live venues; an energetic and vibrant bunch of experienced musicians.

Silver Pockets Full is Edwin Dortland on lead vocals and guitars, Freerk van Oudheusden on bass guitar and backing vocals, Roger Verbeek on guitars and backing vocals, Fred Langhorst on drums and Erik van der Vlis on piano, organ and backing vocals.

Fool for You

Written By: Erwin Mossel

Moonshine full of sparkles, footprints on my soul and you should know
Baby you should know
I’ve been up and down to reach you, I’m hanging on that roof just to tell you so
I just can’t let go

Weary in my head, I’m crazy, that’s what you said
What am I supposed to do?
I’m just a fool for you

I’m drowning in this whirlpool, I’m shivering and feeling cold but there’s no rain
Baby there’s no rain
So hard to hide my fear and I’m fighting my own weakness but it’s no game
I got myself to blame

I’m running through this madness, my secret is on hold so no one knows
Baby no one knows
There’s just one simple question, but I’ll surely lose control if you say no
If you say no

Moonshine full of sparkles, footprints on my soul and you should know

Heavy Kind of Soul

Written By: Edwin Dortland

How long are you gonna keep this up?
Said a girl behind the stage, with a smile upon her face
How long are you gonna rock the crowd?
Before they stop believing, that it’s real what they’re seeing

Will you call it a day?
Can we call it a day?

As long as the words are coming, and I feel that I belong here
As long as the Stones can roll on a heavy kind of soul, I’ll be up here

How long can you go on yesterday?
When the tube is only saying every kid is a better player
How long is belief a beautiful armor?
Can you let love rule, before they take you for a fool?

Will it take you away?
Can we take you away?

First danced the graveyard waltz
Took me on a magical mystery ride
With the Boss on a downbound train
Up a six string track that became a life

Wouldn't it be Great

Written By: Erwin Mossel

Wouldn’t it be great, wouldn’t it be just fine
Wouldn’t it be great to see, a neon light shine
If we had no hate or fear, no hunger or tears
When a girl is free to choose, a grown up boy is not afraid to lose

If leaders were connected to make this world a better place
And their gods could be neglected, there’d be so many ways
If I close my eyes and wish my dreams could really make a change

Wouldn’t that be great, wouldn’t that be just fine
Wouldn’t that be great to hear, salvation is coming near
For we need no kings or guns, no homeless people on the run
To be safe and warm, to be loved, is what a child is thinking of

If we stopped producing weapons, ‘cause they end up in our streets
This is not about protection you know they only make you bleed
Let’s help the ones we care for, with the little things they need

Wouldn’t that be great, wouldn’t that be just fine
Wouldn’t that be great to feel, wouldn’t that be just, just fine

To see the smile upon their face
To feel the beauty in their grace
To share our dreams and keep the faith

Wouldn’t that be great, wouldn’t that be just fine
Wouldn’t that be great to see, a neon light shine on me
Wouldn’t that be great, wouldn’t that be just fine
Wouldn’t that be great to see, a neon light shine

Wouldn’t that be great?

Life is Good

Written By: Erwin Mossel

Wake up, take a seat outside and enjoy the ocean view
See the hummingbirds among the trees while the cat is looking at you
Looking at you, he’s looking at you

California wind in the face of the Miller from the land of mills
Baby blue classic is catching the eyes when he’s driving up to the hills
To the hills, up to the hills

Life is good to you, good to me and we’re having fun
Life is good for us, ‘cause we know where we’re coming from
Where we’re coming from

Pretty girls are laughing out loud underneath the garden tree
Rocking out in front of the crowd, still surprised they came to see me
Came to see me, they really came to see me

Decades of memories, we’ve got our footprints all over the place
Pole positions in our city streets, we’re making plans to win the race
Win the race, to win the race

Primitive and Poor

Written By: Edwin Dortland

On times within me, no one can tell
In every vein and in every cell
I found my peace in the part I’ve seen
It’s bittersweet and it’s in between

What I’m being and tried to be
The darkest part of my sanity is

A dream of a nightmare
See what is not there
When a mind comes to its core, primitive and poor
It’s only love

Someday unconscious, someday unseen
I lose my grip on my reality
And when it comes, the other side
Will I be ready to take that ride?

It’s only love that’s remaining, love that’s containing all
When all the hurt is forgiven, it’s love that’s worth living for

Pickup Truck

Written By: Erwin Mossel

Rolling down from a place we know
The diesel is running like a river flows
Mama told me when it’s tough you’ve got to go

Through the fields of corn and green
Pass the city from the silver screen
We left our homes and the road was in between

Took a ride in a pickup truck, find a place where we’d like to stop
Took a ride to try my luck
With you, with you

Far away, heading nice and slow
From daily jobs and the late night show
When mama called me I could not say yes or no

We drove for days, we’ve been hanging around
In lively places and a small ghost town
The engine is fuzzy but we’re used to hear that sound

We might not know where we’re going to
There ain’t nothing that we have to do
Feels so good to share this ride, feels so good to share this ride
Share this ride

Late at night with the lights down low
Country music from the radio
We had to drive for another mile or so

Pouring Rain

Written By: Erwin Mossel

I was locked up in prison and thrown away, I’ve had tears
Tears rolling down my face and it hurts
Couldn’t see, couldn’t find the words to drag me out
I won’t beg for it, I’m too proud

I’ve been torn and afraid
I’ve been gone and away
I’ve been shut outside myself in the pouring rain
Tears rolling down my face

It’s been all for a reason as some might say, I don’t relate
I’ll just dry here and lose my weight, when it all comes down
When that drain flows I’ll stand my ground and I will beware
Through the storm I’m going somewhere

And I won’t be afraid
No, I won’t hesitate
I’m just flying on these waves in the pouring rain
Just me in an empty space

I had no intention to change your ways
If any of you ask me I will all explain
For only forgiveness will remain
And pain, and pain

I was locked up in prison and thrown away, I’ve had tears
Tears rolling down my face

I’ve been torn and afraid
I’ve been gone and away
I’ve been shut outside myself in the pouring rain

Leaving Home

Written By: Edwin Dortland

Every day she forgives me, every day I wake up with a brand new chance
I count the days she don’t leave me, I’m leaving home

And she knows I never meant to be unkind
She can see that it’s just a state of mind
Why do I still let myself go down that line?
When I know this might just be the last time, just because

Every day she forgives me and every day I wake up with a brand new chance
I count the days she don’t leave me, I’m leaving home with my love life in her hands

And I know she’s right all the way from the start
But I’m making her cry or I’m breaking her heart
Why won’t my heart give it half a chance?
When I do believe she holds it in her hands, it’s in her hands ‘cause

Every day she forgives me, every day I wake up with a brand new chance
I count the days she don’t leave me, I’m leaving home

And she waits while I’m singing through the night
She won’t sleep ‘till I’m safe there by her side
I’m coming home, I can never tell how long
She’s coming on, I can never tell how strong, just because

Every day she forgives me, every day I wake up with a brand new chance
I count the days she don’t leave me, I’m leaving home with my love life in her hands

And she understands

Swimming Upstream

Written By: Edwin Dortland

Whenever I tell myself, whatever it takes to come through
Whenever I fool myself, someday I’ll start over new

However it seems complete, search for it in every way
However I feel defeat, pushing luck to make it someday
I’ve got to let it show, I can’t let it go

It’s like swimming upstream
You’ve got to keep the pressure on, swimming upstream
It’s like swimming upstream

You wonder why it’s taking so long
And if it’s worth the fight you put on
’Cause if you let it go, you’re just where you started from

Forever will be the day, when perfect is just good enough
Whenever I’ll find the time, a way to take the pressure off
I’ve got to let it show, I can’t let it go

I’ve got to let it show, I can’t let it go

Red Wine

Written By: Erwin Mossel

If this time I just could play it right, right this time
Do you long for something more?
I got my feet tapping on the floor now
You’re on my mind, all night

‘Cause you and me we seem to get along just fine
I can’t wait no more to taste some of your red wine

On the inside my eyes are open wide
‘Round here I’m just blind, too blind, so won’t you come?
I can’t tell right from wrong
Can you read my mind, this time?

All my dreams come true in perfect places
You play hard to find
Everyone is pulling funny faces and I
Can’t hold back I feel need for your red wine

You’re so kind, I got harvest on my mind now, just watch the sky
As I’m trembling uptight
While your star is shining bright now
So bright like mine, like mine

I feel the need for your red wine

Ain't Much Later

Written By: Edwin Dortland

You’ve been working a hard life, you got so far
I looked up at you
And all that mattered was family, a house and a car
I guess I look just like you

You had your troubles, you stood with pride
Down the road we walked together, you taught me how to fight and
You had opinions, they weren’t mine
But what can you do?

Everybody calling on you day and night
Never a problem, it was just all right
Time it slides away on you now
I’m much easier on you now
There ain’t much later, but we can try somehow

You never knew love, but you learned how to live
For the ones you love, to the ones you give
But try to let some light between what you think is right, it’s all up to you

Peace should come upon you when you’ve buried the past
If you believe you better make it fast
‘Cause time slides away on us now, but it’s much easier on you now
There ain’t much later, but we can try somehow

And we can keep it strong, until our days are gone
And I will stand by you, until our days are through
And we will keep it going, until our days have gone
Way back, the days we’ve known

Float Like a Butterfly

Written By: Erwin Mossel

Before I knew I was I said I’d be the greatest
I’m not gonna waste my life, I’m not gonna waste my life
To sting like a bee has made me courageous
Imagine and you can fly, imagine and you can fly

I’m in a world of my own where it’s hard to be humble
There ain’t no bragging if you back up the shout
I’ll pick the round and I watch you stumble
You better wake up ‘cause I will knock you out

Like the waves pound the sand my life is a gamble
I reach for the bottom of my soul, for the bottom of my soul
I’ll shuffle my feet and keep on dancing
I’m gonna be the keeper of gold, I’m gonna be the keeper of gold

If my mind can conceive this
And my heart believes
Then I know I can achieve it all
You just better get used to me

‘Cause I don’t have to be what you want me to be
Start to believe in yourself, start to believe in yourself
