"Silver Gleaming Sound Machine (review)"

”A delightful band name calls for song titles that match and this Aarhus Trio has indeed succeeded as you can see. The band blends electronica and psychedelic rock in a luminous and sparkling hybrid – that one has to love. The edginess of their material is a blessing and it’s greatly satisfying to hear a band that doesn’t go for easy solutions in their song writing” Groove (own translation) - Groove (Swedish music magasine) - October 2008

"Drunken hearts get hung all over town"

(in Danish only)

"Silver Gleaming Sound Machine (review)"

Keep it clean, man.

Bio

SILVER GLEAMING SOUND MACHINE is a new synth-rock act from Denmark. Having previously been involved in electronic pop, progressive rock and jazz, the band founded in 2008, by establishing the need for a music that builds a bridge between the cosmic krautrock of the 70s and ethereal pop of the 60s.

Furthermore, to paint the whole thing on a noisy backdrop, the music is played through a vast arsenal of drum machines, samplers and guitar effect pedals that all contribute to a sense of edginess and morphing chaos.

Citing genres and influences can be a heavy read, so Silver Gleaming Sound Machine, prefer merely to describe their music as “kraut-pop”, a neologism designed to unshackle the creative flow of ideas.

The self titled EP “Silver Gleaming Sound Machine” containing four tunes was released in July 2008. In July the band was selected as “band of the week” by the Swedish Music site digfisongs.com. The song: ”Drunken hearts get hung all over town” was released on the Swedish music magazine Grooves monthly sampler CD and in September 2008 reviewed in the same magazine:

The Swedish music magasine Groove wrote:

In February 2009 SGSM received the Bandbase/Sennheiser music sponsorship “the blue box”. The box, which contains 24 quality microphones which was used for the recording of the next SGSM EP: “all tomorrow’s gardens”. In March 2009 SGSM competed in the "Karrierekanon 2009" – a competition arranged by the Roskilde Festival and the biggest public radio station in Denmark: P3. 900 bands entered the competition, and SGSM was among the last 37 bands that where chosen to play live in front of the judges - in a final round.

In May 2009 SGSM will release the second EP “All tomorrow’s gardens”, on vinyl, CD and digitally (on iTunes etc.). The EP is produced by Emil Thomsen at Audio Visual Club (Marybell Katastrophy). Published by Silver Gleaming Sound Machine.
