"A Band with Backbone"

"Rock and spirituality make intriguing, if uneasy, bedfellows. Silver Spine has shunned the topics and arrangements of formulaic pop and alt-rock to follow a less-traveled road. Their music intersperses apocalyptic imagery with aspects of classical composition and modern technology." ....Sue MacPhee Gray 2/6/03 - Toledo City Paper

Bio

Straight from the burbs of Detroit, Michigan, Silver Spine formed in 2004 as a fine tuned and dynamic duo. With no expectations in mind, they set out to create a moving and powerful new blend of music. The outcome was a mixture of 60’s style beach rock, boogie-woogie, and honky-tonk, all combined with melodic vocal hooks rooted deep in 12 bar blues and acoustic/electric ROCK! Their spin on old school jams meshing into futuristic ones has been the key to winning the hearts of ALL AGE GROUPS and opening doors to a variety of different opportunities.

Choosing quality over quantity as the standard for the artists’ touring direction, Silver Spine has performed at numerous Southeastern Michigan and Northwestern Ohio city-sponsored shows and festivals, such as tastefests, rib-offs, rally by the river, and town square lunchtime concerts, including Detroit‘s Campus Martius Park.

They have played at numerous coffeehouses and private parties, and have been chosen for a wide variety of venues such as the Toledo Art Museum and other privately owned art galleries, Toledo Mudhens baseball stadium opening night, as part of the Comerica Park All-Stars baseball weekend entertainment, University of Toledo‘s Chinese New year celebration, HOG (Harley Owners Group) rallies, Toledo Botanical garden, and showcased at the inaugural year of the Motor City Music Conference held at Cobo Hall in Detroit.

They have opened up for Travis Meeks of Days of the New in Little Rock, Arkansas, and have also performed at charity events including opening for national act Brian VanDerAark of Verve Pipe for a St. Jude Hospital Children’s Research benefit. The group has been fortunate enough to have traveled to many other cities to perform including Louisville, Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale, Chicago, Nashville, and recently to Europe: Amsterdam and Berlin.
