In March 7th, 2008 she presented her second CD “Queda el Corazón” in the Moliere Theater in Brussels.

Bio

Since Silvia was a little girl, she entered into theater’s world, classic ballet and Mexican folkloric dance. Her firs turn in show was at 12 years old within “Ruidos y Sonrisas” at Guadalajara, Jalisco (Mexico), where she was born.

At 14 years old she was invited to friend’s party where each one had to show a different art from its own art; Silvia as an actress and student from dance, must made something different and she sang one song learned lullaby from childhood and she discovered herself as singer.

From there and ever she was supported by her (padrino) sweaty godfather from singing “Luis Manuel Mercado”; she produced more than 10 musical shows about Mexican tunes, even those in indigenous languages as Huichol, Purépecha, Náhuatl, Zapoteco.

Contemporary as actress she joined many theater companies giving her best in more than 22 performances working in four of them as choreographer, at Guadalajara, Jalisco, México.
At 16 years old, she improved into "body expression" and she was invited to found Mima and Pantomima’s Company of Bellas Artes of Jalisco. In 1987 she arrived into Mexico City where she worked as actress, and also as singer.

She was invited by the famous director Bruno Bert to integrate his theater’s company "Itaca" and she stayed with this company for three years. In this city as actress she performed in more than 10 theater productions, named: "Santisima" by Sergio Magañas, "El cantar de los cantares" by Salomón, "Cuentos mexicanos costumbristas" by Felix Vargas.

She has also been directed by: Marta Luna, Bruno Bert, Luis Partida, Jorge Villagomez, Chela Orozco and others.

On movies: a short movie and participated in six home videos.

Contemporary as singer she worked into many musical groups: "Entropia", "Banco del ruido", "Gore Matraka” "Ache", "Cuba libre", "Rumbatey", “Banda Sonera de París”, “Las Manos Calientes”, “Son Bacán” and actually “El Truco Mexicano” and “Te’Ome”. Silvia had participated at some festivals in Mexico as well as in international festivals. Further the more important are the following:
MEXICO:
"Festival International Cervantino" (Guanajuato), "Festival de la Ciudad de México" (DF); "Festival Nacional de Mima y Primer Internacional de Pantomima" (Gto);

ITALY: "Musica delle radici" (Verona), "Festival Latino Americando" (Viareggio), “Festival Pianeta Terra” (Gallarate); FRANCE: “Maison de l’Amérique Latine” (Paris); “Fête de la Musique à Paris» (3 editions), in 2004, “Les fêtes Latino-Mexicaines de Barcelonnette”;

BELGIUM: “Brussels Jazz Marathon”, “Le Jour de la Musique”; SPAIN: “Harlem Jazz Club” (Barcelona).

In 1995 she was a special guest of "Maison de l’Amérique Latine", Paris. In 1997 she was special guest of International Centre of Arts Promotion" Brussels.

She participated singing in many CD productions like: "Cuba Libre Orchestra", "Grupo Caliente", "Camino Grande de America Latina", "El tero y la Loca Band", "Rafael Catana", "Los patita de perro", "Rumbatey", “Las Manos Calientes” and others. Since 1999 she integrated Joel Marquez group, with musicians like: José Luis Montiel (“Las Manos Calientes” musical director), Laurent Bonnet, Raphael Shazan and others. With this project she appeared into International Jazz Festivals in: ITALY: “Jazz on the Coast” (Umbria), “Estate Spolentina” (Spoleto); GERMANY: “Minden Jazz Summer Night”, “Jazz an der Donau”, “Best of Music”, “Pallatina Festival”; HOLLAND: “17 Music Meeting”; LUXEMBOURG: “Une Saison au cap Ettelbruck”.
In these Festivals she shares with the followings musicians : Paco de Lucia, Herbie Hancock, The Manhattan Transfer, Abdullah Ibrahim, Steve Turre and others.
From 1995 till 2002 she lived in Italy where she built up in 1995 “Rumbatey” (a quintet salsa covers).
In 1997 Silvia Abalos and created her cultural project concerning music and scenic arts, named: "El Elegido Project" in honor to her father. In 1998 she built up the Trio “Te’Ome”.
In 2003 she lived in Paris and worked herewith very important musicians: Bibi Luison, Frederic Locarni, Luis Manresa, Lukmil Pérez and others.
