Bio

Since she came to Berklee College Of Music in 2008, Silvina Moreno has had one goal: to explore her music potential and become the best artist she can be; a loyal messenger of beautiful music. Ever since the age of 10, Silvina has been mainly passionate about singing and performing, and has also developed her songwriting abilities, stage presence, guitar, piano and bass skills and music business knowledge.

In Buenos Aires, he performed non-stop for ten years, and therefore acquired a lot of stage experience, which was the very first thing that she was so attracted to. “Deep down I know that the main reason that brought me to Berklee is my passion for the stage”. When she was 16 she joined a Pink Floyd tribute band (A New Brick In The Wall), and later on joined another one (London Eye).

At Berklee, she has become involved with a series of high-profile shows, including the Commencement Ceremony in the Agganis Arena in Boston, singing for Grammy Award Winner Juan Luis Guerra in front of 6,000 graduating students and families.

In January of 2011, Silvina had the priviledge of sharing the stage with acclaimed Uruguayan singer/songwriter Jorge Drexler. “Jorge has taught me to breathe, to explore my identity as a songwriter and have patience with the process of embracing my artistry. Sharing the stage with someone I admire as much as him has enlightened my soul”, Silvina commented.

Also, in February of 2011, Silvina has had the honor to sing with ten-time Grammy Award Winner Bobby McFerrin in concert, in a group of talented Berklee singers called The Singing Tribe. This concert, along the lines of Bobby’s musical nature, was mainly produced to generate improvised music in song circles, mixed with composed choral pieces as well. “Bobby McFerrin has taught me how to learn from mistakes, how to embrace the stage and the audience and forget about everything else. In the end, it is really all about the music”, Silvina remarks. “That was one of the most unforgettable experiences I have had in my entire life”

Silvina spent last summer in London, where she interned for Camden Bars and continuous gigs in different venues, showcasing her music with an amazing group of musicians. She considers London to be her favorite city in the world.

Silvina has also been part of music productions at Berklee such as Singer’s Showcase, the International Folk Festival, New Music Festival, the Women Musician’s Network Concert, The Salem Jazz Festival and the Pop/Rock Live Showcase.

After graduation, Silvina will continue to pursue her dream of performing and writing songs. She has recently moved New York to intern and learn about the thriving music industry, and experience first-hand the day-to-day operations of a successful music business entity. Silvina has been very grateful for the opportunities that were and are being offered to her, and she continues to dream of a long life of performances. She considers her experience in Argentina a vital introduction to her dream, and her actual Berklee experience the beginning of the journey.
