Simmer (self-titled) - 17/09/04

Basement EP - 04/10/05

Feeling a bit camera shy

Drawing from the raw energy of bands like Refused and Glassjaw, Simmer crafts pop sensible songs that listeners would associate more closely to Jimmy Eat World or Incubus.

Songs like Until I'm Gray and Meant To Unfold rip through distortion soaked hooks, leaving the biggest adrenaline junkies satisfied. Quite the opposite, Play Fire is a rich lyrical and instrumental tapestry that reminds us of the delicate pieces offered by songsters like Blue Rodeo and Brand New. Reserved passion is the constant thread; Simmer offer a new brand of emotion.

The past year and a half has seen Simmer playing at some of the hottest venues in and around the city of Toronto (Club 279, The 360, Lee's Palace to name a few). Playing for crowds of 300+ people and promoting the band by any means necessary has become a staple in Simmer's career so far. People are starting to take notice.
