There’s a lot to be said about young artists coming out of nowhere and blowing everyone out the water, we only have to look at the popularity of a certain New Zealander in recent months to justify that.

It would be lazy music journalism to simply compare Simona Green to Lorde though, as this New Yorker is bringing something completely fresh, yet charmingly familiar to the pop world. Studying at a performing arts school, the 16 year old luckily manages to refrain from a clean cut, jazz hands persona to bring creatively adept hits in waiting steeped in passion and emotional maturity.

Releasing her debut single ‘Loving You’ earlier this year on SweetSounds (which we featured here), Green has returned with a second single, due for release next year, but available as a free download for a short time exclusively on WTGR.

Sparse and delicate instrumentation dominated by minimalistic piano and strings fully allows Green’s vocals to soar on ‘Time Will Tell’, as the pop-prodigy tells us amongst emotional lyrical content that “this is my time”, and bloody right she is too.

She did it again and just hit me with her music. New York based Youngster Simona Green released a brand new song titled Time Will Tell which follows her absolutely gorgeous debut single Loving You. I am so in love with her music, unbelievable she is just 16 years old but sounds so much older.
