Bio

Hailing from the hills of Warren County, New Jersey, Simon Circles has emerged to the forefront of the local music scene with a collage of musical styles, set to the script of various progressive improvisational jams, often featuring an array of musical innuendoes, and comic relief. Staying true to their passion for the ultimate musical experience, Simon Circles takes listeners on a musical journey comparable to the likes of their many influences, collectively and individually, creating a captivating "feel good" atmosphere.

Originated in 1999, long time guitar aficionado Mike Frank and bassist Joel Stem began the project together, contrived a catalogue of songs driven by their collaborative musical and lyrical genius, and ultimately coined the name Simon Circles. Drummer, Mike-O, joined the band in 2002 after returning from college where he studied Music Performance and Education with an emphasis on percussion and guitar. With guitarist/song writer Craig Titus teaming up with the band, the foursome began taking their music out on the town, playing shows throughout the Northwest NJ/Northeast PA area.

Simon Circles underwent a slight lineup change in the summer of 2005 after a chance meeting with long time friend of Mike-O's, pianist, and medical student, Rob Greaux. The revised foursome, as it remains today, continues to appear regularly at a variety of local venues.

We pride ourselves as a local learning band, which consequently demands an arena of musical inspiration. SC's sound is derived from a collaborative compilation of styles, includeing styles comparable to Dave Matthews, The Grateful Dead, Moe, and Phish. Additionally, our individual influences allow further exploration into styles such as progressive rock, classical, latin, and country.
