Lyrics

Die Away

Written By: Simon Rushby and Matthew Brimilcombe

You, you didn’t want to, want to know,
You didn’t listen when it hurt,
You were so distant,
On the horizon it seemed.

I, I was a dreamer, just like you,
Maybe your dream came true,
I was left with only my dreaming,
Fading like evening into night.

And all my love for you,
You hold it in your hands,
You watch it turn to dust,
And die away
Die away.

We, we knew our future, never a doubt,
We had it all mapped out,
We had a chance, but you don’t remember,
You’ve just erased that memory,
But it’s still with me.

And all my love for you,
You hold it in your hands,
You watch it turn to dust,
And die away,
Die away.

The plans we made when we were young,
So certain now that you’ve undone,
You’ve caused me pain but you don’t care,
All our cards thrown in the air.

You watch it turn to dust,
And die away
Die away.
And all my love for you,
You hold it in your hands,
You watch it turn to dust,
And die away.

Forever With Me

Written By: Simon Rushby/Paul Drew

Close your eyes, free your mind
Try to give yourself a little more time
I’ll be here standing by
While the world is turning every day
We can hold this moment still
Out of touch with the rest
You and I

Don’t think too much, time will heal
‘Cause we’re living in a heartbeat
I need you more than you know

But I’m not in a hurry
Give it a little more time
And I’ll prove you right
If you take more than a minute
Maybe you can look in my eyes
And you’ll see the fire
Burning brighter than ever
Hoping we’ll never
Give up on something so right
And I know if you’ll love me tonight
You will be forever with me

Even though all those nights
You were always pushing me aside
I was there when you cried
Though you always fight to numb the pain
Don’t you know the blade cuts deep
Don’t let me be out of reach
Incomplete

Don’t think too much, time will heal
‘Cause we’re living in a heartbeat
I need you more than you know

But I’m not in a hurry…..

Forever with me

Start It Again

Written By: Simon Rushby

Did you know when you left
Did you see how I looked away?
I didn’t want you to see me cry
But I wanted so much to say
How it hurt – it hurt more than you could know
How I prayed that somehow you wouldn’t go

And I have myself to blame
Hang my head in shame
Cause I had to say more than I wanted to say
And now I find, I want to go back
And start it again
And start it again

Now I know I’ve been wrong
And I can’t seem to make it right
I never meant you to hurt so bad
I want you here by my side
And above all, I need you with me tonight
Take me out of darkness into the light

Take my hand, tell me you’ll stay
Chase my fears, chase them away
You have to believe my tears show the way that I feel
If I find that we can’t go back
And start it again

Mary-Lou

Written By: Simon Rushby

The sun shines down on my way, the highway stretches out in the haze
The ending of a long day, the wrong day to be feeling the rays
But there’s a bar that I know, just a moment from here
You can bag a cold beer and watch the world disappear
And there’s a girl there I pursue, her name is Mary-Lou.

She pours the drinks on Monday, the one day she might talk to the guys
On Tuesday and on Wednesday, her friends say idle chat is unwise
But when the weekend begins, she takes off her beret
Throws her apron away, and begins the display
The world’s no longer blue, cos she’s my

Mary-Lou, I gotta hand it to you, you’re knocking ‘em out with your moves
Down at the Malibu Bar, just outta Vina del Mar
You got what it takes to go far
Help me to make you a star on Broadway, my Mary-Lou.

She flicks a glance at Harry, he’s wary, but she’s reeling him in
She takes a chance with Laurie, she’s sorry that he’s drowning in gin
She’s everyone’s closest friend, she is partly divine,
She makes everything fine, and I’m making her mine
I’ll never be untrue ,to my

Mary-Lou…

(My Mary-Lou) No one sees the sadness behind the masquerade
(My Mary-Lou) Help the businessmen to unwind
But if you change your mind, then I think you can find a reason
You gotta come away with me my Mary-Lou

My Mary-Lou, do you love me too
Do you want to come away with me
Take a chance and leave, we can be naïve
You can dance on old Broadway with me

I Won't Be There

Written By: Simon Rushby, Born Meirlaen, Hans Francken

Published and © DWB Music Ltd/Universal 2008

Some days you just feel like taking your clothes off,
And running round naked just to show the world that you dare.
It don’t mean nothing to you if you cause a commotion;
And you don’t give a damn if all the people stare.

Well baby don’t let me stop you ‘cause I won’t be there.
I said baby don’t let me stop you ‘cause I won’t be there.

I’m gonna get out, get out of your face
Give you the space, you don’t need to share
Why don’tcha wave goodbye, cos I’m outta this place
Baby don’t let me get in your way,
I need a greyhound ticket and a couple of days,
And you don’t have to care, ‘cause I won’t be there.

You don’t know why but you feel like climbing a mountain,
Pushing to the top just to feel some fresher air.
You give no love to the small guys all around you;
It’s all kept back for you and you’ve got none to spare.

I’m gonna get out……

No I won’t be there, oh no,

Time is a healer if you need one, if you need one,
But it don’t make a difference if you don’t.
It’s better just to make a change;
Time for me to get my coat and get out of range.
Don’t let me cramp your style -
What we had was good for a while.

And the next time you don’t need someone to hold you,
You’ll finally be satisfied ‘cause I won’t be there.

Yeah I’m gonna get out, get out of your face
Give you the space, you don’t need to share
Why don’tcha wave goodbye, cos I’m outta this place
Baby don’t let me get in your way,
I need a greyhound ticket and a couple of days,
And you don’t have to care, ‘cause I won’t be there.

I Can Feel You Now

Written By: Simon Rushby

I’m tired of all this wind and rain
I’ve tried so many times in vain
My light is slowly dying
I feel alone, I’m crying
And if I can’t even move
Have I anything to prove?

But I can feel you now
But I can feel you now
I can feel you beside me, quietly holding my hand
Yes I can hear you now
Yes I can hear you now
Whispering to me, telling me you understand

Today I swim against the tide
There’s nothing left except my pride
The current drags me under
I catch my breath and wonder
If I stand a chance in here
If your kisses disappear

But I can touch you now (x2)
I am touching your fingers, feeling the power in your heart
Yes I can feel you now (x2)
Telling me softly we’ll never be far apart

You’re the reason I keep moving forward now
You’re the lifeline that pulls me to shore, and now
I don’t need to be free any more
I have you….. just the other side of my door

And I can see you now
I can see you now
You’re standing here right beside me, quietly holding my hand
And I can tell you now
I need to tell you now
I need to tell you I love you, I think that you might understand
