Bio

Sincere hails from the urban microcosm, Detroit - the Motor City a.k.a. Rock City - in Michigan. Born Gregory Aaron Coleman on January 1, 1985, Sincere first discovered his talent for rap music while still a babe during a 6th grade class. His skills would not develop, however, until he took his gift seriously, later on in high school. At this time, nonetheless, Sincere’s raps were littered with secular situations and innuendos. But it was his first two years of high school - Sincere moved to North Carolina for two years - where the greatest change in his life took place. During one Wednesday evening bible study in a small church in Lenoir, North Carolina Sincere accepted Christ into his life, and made up in his heart that he would live his life as a believer. Moving back to Detroit, Sincere joined Perfecting Church to receive the uncompromising word of God through Pastor and teacher Marvin L. Winans. Sincere spent his last two years at Cass Tech in downtown Detroit, where he graduated in 2003. In 2006, the Lord let him know that it was time to receive more formal teaching in the way of ministry; thus, he joined Perfecting Church’s School of Ministry. Sincere’s music began to expand by leaps and bounds due to the wealth of knowledge and understanding that he gained from the teachings. It was here that he began to understand the ministry behind the music. After all, ministry means people.

Sincere, the youngest of five, has wonderful parents, Gregory Scott and Evon Coleman, who have supported and encouraged him throughout his various ups and downs, successes and failures. Finishing up his undergraduate career at Wayne State University in 2007, Sincere plans to take his music ministry to the next level. The vision that Sincere has for his music is far greater than simply rapping and performing in concerts. The vision, however, is centered around scripture and incorporates prayer, preaching, teaching, and altar calls. The objective is to spread God’s word to a dying generation and to ultimately win souls. He who winneth souls is wise. The scope of this ministry is one that spans farther than local churches, local neighborhoods and communities, and local youth; this ministry is to have global effect. So with much fasting and praying, along with dying to self, Sincere desires to continue to labor in the Word and doctrine of the most high God; our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
