In the early 90’S, the Atlanta music market began its dominance of the urban music scene. From hip-hop to R&B it seemed as if the “Motown of the South could not go wrong. From TLC to OutKast…Usher to Ludacris…Monica to T.I…and the list still continues to grow. Interestingly enough, the musical producers of these hits have become more of a catalyst for this growth than the artists themselves. To this day, the “Atlanta Sound” is one that has been dominant in its influence across musical genres worldwide.

Sinclair Davis represents the culmination of everything that is special about the Atlanta music scene…creativity, originality, and ingenuity. Born in Columbus, GA, Sinclair began to develop his musical style at an early age. Playing guitar in local bands and for studio sessions, he was able to hone his skills and appreciation for not only R&B and hip-hop, but other eclectic forms of music. Knowing that small town Columbus could only offer him limited exposure, his move to the bubbling Atlanta scene seemed to be the natural migration.

Mr. Davis was blessed with the professional opportunity to be signed as a staff writer to Money In The Bank/EMI Publishing, and as a staff producer for RCA. Where most would have been satisfied, Sinclair’s creative juices yearned for more. With the help of his manager Yasmin Jones, he was able to create Blaqsun Recordings, the vehicle through which he would work with the myriad of talent spewing from the Atlanta music scene. Blacqun Recordings was renamed to Hi Lyfe Recordings in 2006.

Being an accomplished guitarist and keyboardist allowed Sinclair to draw from a true musical foundation - something the average “beatmaker” is unable to do. When you encounter his sound, you quickly understand that his originality comes from his dedication and respect for his vast musical roots. His mastery of a variety of synthesizers, MPCs, effects modules and other studio hardware has put him in high demand among those familiar with his crisp and precise production. Having added Pro-Tools, Nuendo, Wavelab, Sound Forge, and other assorted plug-ins to his repertoire, the sky is truly the limit for this polished composer, producer, and songwriter.

Outside of the his day responsibilities to RCA & EMI , Sinclair also boasts such professional achievements as working on projects for artists signed to Hollywood Basic/Disney, Sony Music (London, UK), DreamWorks, and Sure Shot Records. Having landed music assignments with both Turner Cartoon Network and the indie company Film Captive Inc., Mr. Davis is no stranger to commercial advertising either, with advertising music credits from Coca-Cola, Sprite, McCann-Erickson, and Burrell Communicatoins.

With 10 plus years of paying dues and varied experience in the music industry, Sinclair Davis is now poised and ready to leave his own unique imprint on the music world.
