"--"

“The band lets the music do the talking with an ever changing musical landscape...I can't imagine fans of modern progressive rock would not enjoy this album. ”
- Rateyourmusic.com

"The Musical Junkie"

“ “The Garden of Shades” starts bold and catches you with an iron grip that doesn’t let go till the album’s end. Each song is as catchy and well put together as the last. I instantly clung to “Karmatic”...This (Halcyon Failure) is definitely an album I can listen to from start to finish in any mood and I look forward to hearing more of what these guys have to offer.”
- Alex Martinez

"The Observer"

“Though they may be young, their music is unique, eclectic and rather mature. This band is not your typical pop-rock band that always seems to be playing on every major radio station as of lately.”
- Jennifer Vazquez

"MusikReviews.net"

“SIOS are original in their own right by means of their overall sound as well as individual song structures and a charismatic voice up front...These musicians are intelligent, yet down to earth rockers, which is so important in an era where the business is rife with supposed artists wearing false masks. ”
- Andreas Schiffmann

Bio

SIOS is an Art Rock/Progressive Rock band from New Jersey with a fictional concept that serves as the backdrop to their music. This four piece is always looking for ways to push boundaries that have yet to be pushed in the music industry and to get peoples attention wherever they go, and they have yet to disappoint.

Each member from SIOS has a vast list of influences. The common ground between them are bands like Coheed & Cambria, Tool, Circa Survive, 3, Queen, Metallica, and basically any groundbreaking band that has pushed the envelope in their own respect.

There are many finer details that come together to paint a grand picture when it comes to what sets SIOS apart from other bands. First off, the fictional concept behind their music serves as another way to hook the listener into another world that this band creates. The concept is very relateable when it comes to common day themes and philosophical subjects. Aside from the concept, they are very particular about their sound, resulting in every show they play being as solid, hard-hitting, and spacey as can be, each gig being better than the last.

SIOS originates with Christian Cruz inviting a guitar student of his (Phillip DeFreitas) to start a new project with him on bass. After these two setting up the premise of what SIOS is going to be about, longtime friend and Rhythm Guitarist April Copes fills her position, and months later, Gabriel Scholis-Fernandez is contacted through Craigslist to take up drums in the band. After an incredible journey involving the recording of their debut album, April Copes leaves the band due to personal strife and difference in views and Jake Ball steps in to take the spot of Rhythm Guitar.
