She Was My Girl by Siraaj, a wonderful soulful voice singing this sweet tale of sadness.
The plot is Magnificent. The delivery is tasteful moving and meaningful. You can feel the writer’s pain in this piece.
The over all production was sophisticated while still maintaining that street edge. The background voices painted extra colors to the beautiful portrait of soreness. Siraaj's sound is almost visual rendering, complex yet easily understood. This song may ring of true sorrow, but it is still very sexy.

I have heard so many R&B tunes that are just plan boring. This is not one of them! This piece takes hold of your heart and attention and doesn’t let go. This song is tender yet strong. The lyrics were well written better than most I would say. R&B while funky and fun isn't exactly known for it’s profound, philosophical insightful, reflective, weighty or even thoughtful lyrics. Unless you get that from "baby oh my sweet baby". Not the case with Siraaj the man can write as well as sing.
Being a reviewer reviewing songs I have never heard before is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you are going to get.
This is a good song.

Siraaj a pure soul singer, a majestic songwriter, and innovative producer has been a musical storm brewing for approximately 13 years.
Siraaj was first exposed to music by his mothers love for Soul and R&B music.
Everyday she would listen to Earth, Wind, and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Ronnie Dyson and Marvin Gaye just to name a few.
Siraaj's personal favorite was Donny Hathaway.
Siraaj states "When Donny sang you could hear whatever he was feeling at that exact moment.
He was phenomenal".
While attending college at Chicago State University, Siraaj studied classical voice and music theory & composition.
As a musician Siraaj says "It is important to have an overall understanding of music and the history of the art form.
Once you've learned the history then you can create music that does its job, and that is to enrich the
lives of people of all ages, genders, and races.
Siraaj is now working on his first project, a Soul and R&B CD release entitled "Soul and the City".
When asked about the title of the release Siraaj answers
"I just want people to understand that although there are people who want to separate
soul into categories, it is essentially the same. Soul music is music that acts as
a mirror; it reflects the thoughts feelings and mood of the singer and songwriter.
Siraaj is a seasoned vocalist with the ability to change the face of soul music.
Siraaj adds "It's not that I am saying soul music needs a change, I am saying
that a new voice with a new twist on an old style should be welcomed by the industry
and the people alike.
