Cicero Presley

Cicero Presley has been making music and writing songs since he was a small child. However, his first experience with music's creation rather than its appreciation was not as smooth as he would have hoped. Cicero's mother bought him a violin when he was six years old, and Cicero then joined his elementary school's orchestra class. The initial prospect of playing violin was appealing, but he later became jealous of the children with "larger violins", which he now knows of course to be different instruments entirely, and also orchestra classes required every member to miss recess for rehearsal every Tuesday. Cicero was too young and reckless to appreciate the time it takes to master an instrument, and this recklessness reached its peak when he accidentally dropped his violin case, while the violin was still inside, down the stairs of his childhood home. His mother didn't have the money to pay for repairs, and so Cicero resigned from the orchestra and from music. Cicero saw his return to music's creation at the age of ten when he began to write songs and poems that popped into his head. It must first be stated, however, that the main artist Cicero listened to was Lil Wayne, and so he wanted to emulate a 2000's rapper as a young child. He became better and better at making rap songs as he realized he would need to rap what he lived and as he kept writing more and more. The next phase of making music came when Cicero realized the songs he wrote would be better if he could also produce the music behind them since he wrote the lyrics with a rhythm in mind. Cicero began toying with FL Studio until eventually he figured out how to make something that sounded like music, but there was still something missing from his sound. Cicero returned to live instruments when he inherited his deadbeat father's bass guitar, and with the help of YouTube and other internet resources, he taught himself the instrument and music theory. Now, with lyrics, production, and theory, Cicero feels that music is something that allows him to express things greater than words and deeper than emotions. Music is how he feels able to understand his experiences and synthesize real meaning from them.
