"For A Listen: Sir Salvatore"

Sir Salvatore is perhaps the best band you've never heard of (laugh now if you're way ahead of me). With a MySpace page that's pretty sparse, you'd never guess that the band's last single, Ambalina, was in the top three most blogged about songs in May according to elbo.ws.
Listen to the song, and you'll see why. This is the catchiest damn song, and there's nothing you can do to get it out of your head. The intertwined vocals and the happy-go-lucky guitar riff meld together to create a summer scene that is simply idealistic. The recording quality is excellent, as the band worked with Carl Saff, who has also mastered the likes of Cocorosie. It's a refreshing tune, as are many of the others the band has released. - The Deli

"Spotlight On: Sir Salvatore"

Sir Salvatore are a San Francisco-based quartet that, having recently release their six track EP (Those Men are Not Astronauts) set the blogosphere on fire with their tracks. There is a very likable element to the music they have created: it isn’t the deadly serious indie tomfoolery that pops up now and again. The lyrics aren’t contrived, their delivery is not forced or rushed. Instead, Sir Salvatore have created a great sound full of urgent, pulsing guitar work from the Seventies coupled with the lyrical stylings of a contemporary New York-based act.

The genuine affection for their sound is evident, as the band canters through each of the six songs on their release with a precise goal: rocking your face off. It’s all horribly cliche, but until you listen to the songs, you won’t quite “get it.” If you like the Strokes, but never understood who they wanted to sound like, Sir Salvatore is capable of reminding even the most die-hard fan that music isn’t always life or death, sometimes it is just fun to get to get together with friends and rock. - Broken Dial

"How Sir Salvatore Became This Week’s Biggest Band In The World"

'Hooray This Projector,' in particular, is a head-bopping piece of indie rock in the second-wave-of-Merge style. - Idolator

Bio

Our band was born out of a desire to make catchy yet accessible rock music. We all grew up listening to the classic indie artists of the 90s - The Pixies, Pavement, Guided By Voices - they all had that perfect intersection of hookiness and weirdness. We hope to achieve the same, but with modern day execution!

We've achieved some solid blog and international radio success so far and are looking to the future!

We sound a bit like: The Pixies, Pavement, Guided By Voices, The Strokes, Pinback, Phoenix, The National
