Sir Thomas formed in early 2007 when Kitt Byfield and Callum Moncrieff came together to jam on some of Kitt's solo original tunes. The guys realized there was something special there and asked long time friend and bass player Mel Hall to join the group. A month later the band had its first gig in Kitt's home town of Grass Valley. From these humble beginnings came Sir Thomas.
Sir Thomas has a unique sound and feel, mixing roots, funk and occasional elements of jazz to create a catchy rhythmic blend. The lyrics and melodies are memorable and beautiful while the rhythms are toe tappingly simple yet vastly complex. All three members (music students/graduates) have eclectic tastes and influences ranging from popular icons like Radiohead and Ben Folds to classics like the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Sting.
Spurred forward by a love of music and a desire for everyone to hear their well crafted tunes, Sir Thomas sits on the precipice of the world stage ready to take the leap!
