Bio

Sissy Peoples, singer, songwriter, actress and comedian.

Sissy's talents were unveiled by the phenomenal Natalie Cole. She enjoyed a ten-year junket, touring internationally and nationally with Natalie Cole & Company.

Sissy has had an illustrious singing career and is known in the industry. She has sung with such notables as Pattie LaBelle, Ray Charles, Chaka Chan, Johnny Mathis, Rod Stewart, Jeffrey Osborne, Diana Ross, James Ingram, Peabo Bryson, Taka Boom, and many others. Sissy's gospel tinged voice can be heard as a background vocalist on many of the recordings of those named above. Sissy has made many various television appearances: Soul Train, The Natalie Cole Special; The Merv Griffin Show, American Bandstand, The Mike Douglas Show, Johnny Carson, The Arsenio Hall Show and The Grammy Awards, just to name a few! She's shared the stage with notables like Lou Rawls, Luther Vandross, Ashford & Simpson, Dionne Warwick, The Gap Band, D.J. Rogers, Yarbrough & Peoples, Buddy Miles, George Benson and Bette Midler.

As an established R&B artist, Sissy never forgot her roots. While residing in California, she was a member of the West Angelese Church of God In Christ and was a member of the West Angeles C.O.G.I.C. Mass Choir. Sissy's distinguished career in the Gospel industry has offered the opportunity for her to work under the direction of the renowned late James Cleveland and participated in many of his workshops. She was priviledged to sing with his Award-winning Group, The Gospel Messengers, before his untimely demise.

Sissy's acting experience includes performing as an "outstanding" cast member of the Off-Broadway production "GOSPEL IS...!", which was written & produced by Vy Higginsen, the creator and producer of the Off-Broadway Gospel Musical "Mama, I Want To Sing".

Sissy's season has finally come around. Her Gospel CD, entitled "Breakin' Of Day" (with the title cut co-written by Sissy) was released. The "soulful" CD encompasses various arrays of gospel music that instantly soothes and touches your emotions.

Sissy's must current project that's making its round across the states is her "One Woman's Gospel Comedy Musical - THE PEOPLES WITHIN". Sissy's most talented and comical "peoples within" are 4 Church Divas that are known in many church congregations... The Church Announcer; The Lead Usher; The Headlining Diva and the Church Soloist. They are available for bookings and look forward to coming out to your next "Grand Church Occasion"!
