Bio

Sister Lubei hails from the small island nation of Republic of Palau. Her experiences growing up in the islands has made her who she is today not only as a recording artist, a songwriter, a print maker and an all around artist who stands firm in sharing her passion and message with the world, but also as a Woman who is not afraid to stand firm in what she believes in. Her compositions combine elements of reggae, hip hop, dancehall, dub and world music. In 2006, she released her first album ‘Til Zion’produced by RSL Productions, which quickly jump started her music career and gained attention of Hawaii Music Awards as she was nominated in 2007 as the “Upcoming New Artist of the Year”.
Sister Lubei has performed as an opening act for reggae heavyweights Gregory Issacs, Morgan Heritage, Maxi Priest, Mikey Dread, Freddie McGregor, Maacho & Cool Connection, Yellowman, ThirdWorld, Taurus Riley, Nas, Biz Markie and much more. SisterLubei also has performed with the amazing Dub Apocalypse in Boston & New Hampshire.
She is due to release her follow up album this spring 2013, produced by Tempo Valley with collaborations and re-mixes from dj’s and artists from the Pacific Islands to the Atlantic oceans. In late 2012, SisterLubei and New York DJ and Producer Ted Ganung & Deeper Visions Recordings When Love Remix also adding DJ Bostron a DJ from the UK on a Drum & Bass version. Sister Lubei has not hesitated to give back, she is active in her community and is aware of the issues and challenges many face in these times. In 2010 she made visits to local schools in Palau, sharing and delivering positive message to the youth from her island nation. Sister Lubei is also donating the proceeds from the last mash up with TempoValley’s “Big Tings” to the youth on the Mana Maoli Collective album in support for Charter Schools of Hawaii, an inspiring collaboration with local favorites like Guy Cruz, Paula Fuga, Irie Love and many more. And also the unofficial release of “One Day in the Sun” featuring B-Cap, MC/Musician from the east coast favorite “The Press Project.
Sister Lubei, the lyrical empress delivers her message of life and love with a strong voice of reason, compassion and a unique style.
