Bio

Sitcom is a band comprised of three young men from Toronto, Ontario with interesting hairstyles and a tenuous grasp on the concept of irony. It only makes sense that they would form an indie rock band! Risen from the ashes of two formerly great Toronto rock bands (The Awesome Team and The Ol’ 55s), they have come together with a common goal: to rescue rock music from mediocrity, to restore validity and artistry to a suffering musical genre, and to sell out and make ass-loads of money as quickly as possible. Their influences come from a variety of places, such as the fascinating new wave/punk scene of the late 70’s, early 80’s (The Clash, Elvis Costello, Talking Heads), the rock scene of the early 90’s (Nirvana, Pavement, Faith No More), and the current new breed of rock (Kings Of Leon, Arcade Fire, Band Of Horses). Though these bands have provided a great deal of inspiration, Sitcom’s music is clearly innovative and original. They really deliver the best of both worlds, providing thoughtful lyrics just begging to be dissected by music nerds, while at the same time providing a fun, aggressive beat for idiots to spazz out to. I introduce you now to the gentlemen of Sitcom:
Casey grew up in a small town where there was little more to do than drink Labbat’s 50 and write shitty punk songs. He has since refined his writing style, and brought his hard wrought songs to the Sitcom table. He is clearly an angry little fellow with something very real to say.
Joey grew up in another small town where his acerbic humour and brilliant musicianship quickly made him a Kirkland Lake legend. Joey’s bass work creates a melody all its own.
Jeff grew up in Toronto, picked up the drums a scant few years ago, and has since become one of the most talented drummers in the scene. It should be noted that the other members of Sitcom mercilessly poached him from his former band, and feel no remorse for it.
We are Sitcom. Thank you for your time.
