Bio

Six Eight is a rapper out of East St. Louis Illinois. Born in New Orleans Louisiana Six Eight moved to the rough city of East St Louis when he was 10 years old. He began to realize that this place was gonna be tough to make it out of. Living in the Orr Weather projects he began to think of how he would get out. Six Eight better known as Terrance Poe or Poe, was a tremendous football player getting that from his father who payed for the Saints in the 80's. Poe figured football would be his way out, but at the same time had dreams of being a musician. He started singing in the choir and in a group called "New Era". Poe was always a rapper but mostly when he was joking with his friends. When he got to high school he was highly recruited by colleges to play football but his height was a problem. Poe ended up at small Greenville College in Illinois where he really began to realize how good of a rapper he was. He started going to the studio with Professor Johnson a music Prof. at Greenville College, then began doing shows at the college. He was then picked up in a band called "Urban Derivatives" they received a small label deal with blackroom records but it did'nt work out and they were able to get out of the deal. After doing a small tour of Missouri and Illinois. He ventured off on his own and began killing songs from left to right. He performed at hip-hop festival in St. Louis, at Greenville College, Borders Bookstore, and more. Today he is working on more music and waiting on that big break.

Influences: Busta Rhymes, Biggie, 2Pac, LL Cool J, Nas, Jay Z, DMX, Clipse, Fabolous, NEYO, Trey Songz, Nelly, T.I., Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def, Common, Method Man, and more.

What sets me apart from others is, off the top I dont curse in my songs. Im a street cat but I dont talk about the stuff others do. No disrespect to them I just chose another route. My flow is just as crazy as any other probably even crazier but I just flip it a different way. My voice is perfect for this and my punch lines are crazy. One thing is Im a song writer I write songs that make you want to listen to the words not just the hot beat.

We have all been given a gift of song and what you put out is on you. Im ffrom the hood but I dont take the same approach as most rappers from the hood do. They are good at what they do and I respect that but its not me. Im trying to show an educated side to this you dont have to talk about selling dope and having sex and shooting people to be hot.
Im here to make the world a better place than when I came. Whether that be through song, charity, or whatever.

If a man has a chance to lead an extraordinary life he has no right to keep to himself.
