Bio
SixGun was formed with one key idea. If you make good music that doesn't age, or lose its appeal with time, you have something that is universal and appealing to nearly everyone.
They put a modern-day spin on the basics from the masters like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. By meshing modern bands with similar basics, like Social Distortion and Bad Religion, with The Reverend Horton Heat and the Stray Cats, you get a wide palette of influences that fit very well together.
Their debut album “The Hair of the Dog That Bit You” covers everything from the driving, aggressive modern punk rock of Bad Religion, to some of the roots based blues that you wouldn’t expect to hear today. "The Hair of The Dog That Bit You" has also gotten rave reviews from members of the radio industry as well as inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
SixGun has played various venues across the Southern California area including The Roxy on Sunset and The Majestic Ventura Theater, where they have opened for The Misfits and the Dead Kennedys. SixGun is currently scheduled for a 17 show west coast tour taking place during May and June of 2006 and is in process of planning 3 other 6-week, self-funded tours that will take them across the country for the remaining duration of 2006.
