In January 2006, songwriting partners, Andreas Stavropoulos and Rob Farley conceptualized a limitless rock band known as Six Hour Ride. Named for a transcontinental flight between the North American coasts, the band mixes styles varying from raw inner city sounds to unique and emotional melodies. Backed by a tremendously talented pocket, Kyle Nail (drummer, percussion) and Chris McCarthy (bass, cello), Six Hour Ride brings a traditional and real feeling to alternative rock n’ roll, something that has been missing in the current music industry.
Six Hour Ride have showcased, throughout the west coast, that they are remarkably talented musicians, songwriters, and businessmen (they look and act the part). Currently, the group has self released their debut album, 'Paint' and are touring the west coast self sufficiently, building a prominent fan base along the way. On June 16, 2007 they have been booked for AHL Productions/KROQ'S Socal Rock Revolution featuring acts such as Lit, Unwritten Law and Zebrahead. The festival will be followed by stops in Seattle and Oregon.
Six Hour Ride managed to book themselves and maintain a professional connection with the Whisky A Go Go (ref. Celina Denkins, National Talent Buyer/Senior Booking Agent - (310) 652-4202) and AHL Productions (714) 600-4767, among others within just a few months of forming.
‘Paint’ has proved itself to be an album that is pleasing to the ear and eclectic throughout it’s spin. The songs touch on real subjects and emotions that hold a presence in all of our lives. It is available on iTunes and can be purchased online at cdbaby.com and through the band’s website.
Presently, Six Hour Ride is touring the west coast and searching for the right managment groups to take them to a level where everyone can hear their music. It is only a matter of time before this alternative rock n’ roll band makes its move to take the music industry out of their current slump. The charasmatic line up make the band humble, understandable and enjoyable.
