"Concert Review"

"you must hear them for yourself. Shawn Johnson & the Foundation fills my 'good live music' fix. Their shows are always energetic and the pure emotion put into the music by the individual players results in an energy and sound so pure that it borders on religious proportions. This band is a must see for everybody." -

"Concert Review"

Check these guys out now!! This is one of the hottest bands in the Phoenix area and could be coming to a city near you soon. Shawn Johnson is an amazing songwriter who puts his whole soul into his music. Hopefully we will be seeing more from this band very soon!! -

SHAWN JOHNSON & THE FOUNDATION is one of the hardest working bands in the valley! The band members have been performing together for two years. They typically do several shows per week. They have very loyal fans, many of whom have memorized all their original songs and can be found dancing and singing along with the band! -

In addition to winning several awards locally, including "The Edge 106.3 FM Locals Only Competition," and being nominated in the Best Male Artist or Group category for the 2002 AIM Awards, SJF receives regular airplay on Phoenix Radio, including The Zone, 101.5 FM.

Shawn Johnson & the Foundation has established a solid following in Tempe, AZ, and is currently expanding into new markets, including Tucson, Flagstaff, Denver, Los Angeles and San Diego.

Everyone is starting to really pay attention to this band that plays over 120 shows per year. Whether they’re playing at home in Phoenix AZ, or somewhere on the road, the crowds are growing larger. Recently releasing the 4th SJF studio album, appropriately titled "IV", SJF found a new pop production to their ever evolving live arrangements, that speak well to the listener at home, and bring another level to the live performance. Receiving awards ranging from Best Jam Band to Best Acoustic Show, and most recently awarded the Readers Choice award for "Best Local Band" by the Arizona Republic. SJF has gotten fans to their feet opening for Los Lobos, David Crosby, Cake, Lifehouse, Everclear, Little Feat, Rusted Root, The Samples, Joe Bonnamassa, The Southland, The Phunk Junkies, Cowboy Mouth, and The Format, and many others. In the past few years, performances have spanned all across Arizona, but also to New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and California.
Yes, the vibe is catching on.

The four guys that make up SJF are musicians to the core. Singer/songwriter Shawn Johnson on vocals and rhythm guitar, Jayson Johnson on lead guitar, Jaron Mossman on drums, and Kurtis Keber on bass. They are a great group of friends that you want to witness when you go to see “a band.”. There is that special presence and chemistry that translates to a great performance on stage. There is so much talent, and the guys keep their fans coming back for more, again and again, because there is always something new and exciting to see and hear at every show, even for the faithful follower.
