Bio

SKAFACE was formed in the Fall of 1988 by lead singer, Lynne Scott, out of her love for ska and reggae music. In 1989 SKAFACE recorded their first four song cassette, entitled, “Skaface” and began performing across the gta. Their indie music soon gained popularity in the underground music scene, and in 1991, they recorded their first full length album entitled, “Mamooska.” Many songs from “Mamooska” were played on college and mainstream radio and in 1991, SKAFACE won the CFNY talent search. As part of the winning prize, they performed at Molson Park in Barrie along with Blue Rodeo, the Violent Femmes, Teenage Head, The Skydiggers and The Crash Test Dummies to name but a few. SKAFACE have performed in 'A' clubs throughout the GTA and upstate NY with such ska legends as “The Selecter”, “Bad Manners” and the godfather of old ska, “Laurel Aitken.”They also appeared at the Molson Ampitheatre as part of the Kumbaya Festival in the 1990's. The band has also performed on television with appearances on YTV, Much Music, Breakfast Television and the CBC and have toured extensively throughout Canada and parts of the USA. In 1995, SKAFACE went on to record a third release, “Ask Cafe”, to great reviews. They have appeared on several European ska compilations and on Universal Music Canada's “Ska Trax, The Next Generation.” SKAFACE are mixing new tracks to be released in the near future.

The current members of SKAFACE are: Lynne Scott/vocals, Greg Howley/guitar/vocals, Steve Roberts/bass guitar, Paul Stewart/rhythm guitar and Ed Troscianczuk/drums/percussion.
