SKAI (pronounced Sky) is an American R&B/Alternative R&B/Pop singer/songwriter/videographer and engineer. SKAI was first exposed to singing at a very young age in local talent competitions, the school choir as well as church. Her voice is most notably described as an angelic blend of sassy tones displaying great control coupled with strength. Born in New Orleans, LA raised in Tallahassee, FL, SKAI received much of her music foundation that would prepare her for a long-term career in the arts.

SKAI released her first mix-tape The Campaign XI The Prelude to Demp Week in 2003 exploiting her hit single “Like That” Ft the Ying Yang Twinz. This resulted in nationwide airplay as well as placing SKAI in the forefront of her peers as an artist on the rise. Following the success of her first mix-tape, a second was released, entitled The Skai is the Limit in 2008 featuring the radio friendly single “Why You Didn’t Call”. This single debuted at number two in 2007 on on the unsigned artist ringtone roster. From this success SKAI was awarded the opportunity to sing on and be in regular rotation on several radio commercials ranging from First Team Mitsubishi to Eve’s Beauty Supply in her local/regional area.

SKAI has been awarded several music awards including The 2008 Gainesville Music Summits Best Unsigned R&B artist of year award, the 2009 Southern Entertainment Best Unsigned R&B artist of the year award, the 2009 Tallahassee Idol award as well as the 2010 Who’s got that vibe award. She was also awarded the key to the city for the city of Monticello, FL for her positive musical contributions in the community.
