"Around Hear"

Last Wednesday, Metropolis hosted a listening party for the new Skant Bone album, Four Seasonz, which is scheduled to drop on September 26. The first single is "Smokin' on Information," the old Layzie Bone joint with Snoop Dogg, reupholstered and properly pimped-out for Skant. He's already shot the video with Snoop in L.A., and it should be hitting the airwaves in a few weeks.

___________________________________
Cleveland-based rapper, Robin Hardwick aka “Skant Bone”, is no stranger to the music game. Skant started out in the game as a founding member of the multi-platinum groups, Bone Thugs N Harmony and Mo’ Thugs, adding his laid back style and confident swagger to the potent mix of talent known as the Bone family. Skant earned his nickname from his early days of romancing the ladies. His professional reputation is best described by his lyrics “Thuggish Ruggish Pimpin’…All Day, Every Day”.

Since early childhood, music has always been a part of Skant’s life and his passion for music is evident. “I make real music with real life concepts. I’m not just talkin’ about jewelry and cars…I’m talkin’ real life.” His musical influences include hip-hop pioneers KRS-One, NWA, Big Daddy Kane, Eric B & Rakim, Slick Rick and the list goes on.

In 1993, his group Bone Thugs N Harmony got their ‘big break’. They had the opportunity of meeting the legendary Eazy E, in which he signed the group to a record deal. However, the day before the meeting with Eazy, Skant was charged with a crime and sentenced to a two year prison term that put his dreams of rapping on hold. While serving time he continued to write and rhyme and in 1995 he came out ready to get back in the game. Armed with the knowledge of life, he hit the road bringing his raw street energy as well as his veteran experience to center stage. He recorded with artists such as Snoop Dogg, Akon and the Young Bloodz, just to name a few. Skant was also featured on the soundtrack of the 2002 box office hit “Barber Shop”. A seasoned hip-hop maestro of the concert circuit, he has toured on the Back to School 2003, Take Me Home 2002 and the Art of War 1997 tours with fellow Clevelander’s Bone Thugs N Harmony as well as artists Dru Hill, Ice Cube, the Outlaws and others.

Continuing to blow up his musical legacy, on March 21, 2006, Skant dropped his new EP, Welcome to My World. The EP is supported by a music video featuring the hot single and remix “What They Say About Me”. This video and single includes guest appearances by long time hip-hop notable Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony, and a revealing day-to-day behind the scenes DVD.

Skant will release his eagerly anticipated album “Four Seasonz – Hustlin’ Is An All Year Grind” on September 26, 2006. The guest stars that joined him for his solo project are Big Snoop Dogg, Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone and Bizzy Bone. The lead single entitled “Smokin’ On Information” featuring Big Snoop Dogg and Layzie Bone is receiving exceptional feedback from his fans.

The ambitious, performer/producer/businessman recently launched a clothing line “Down The Way Apparel” for both men and women. As for his personal life, Skant is a single father of two, a son and daughter. For more information, please visit Skant Bone’s web site at www.skantbone.net.
