Still working on that hot first release.

In the rap game, flash-in-the-pan artists are called legends before they can legally drive. By those standards, Skatterman is a OG in the game. But his is a hard-earned title that comes after years of sweat and heartache. Negotiating the notoriously grimy music business is nearly as dangerous as growing up in the streets of eastside Kansas City, but Skatterman somehow avoided the pitfalls of both,... making a name for himself in the process.
Starting as a teen, the syllable spitter knocked out hits with different groups, starting with Southside Rollers in 1999. In high school, Skatterman met rapper Snug Brim, and the two became longtime collaborators. When their 2001 album “Worth a Million” caught the attention of Tech N9ne and his label Strange Music, the duo signed on with Strange for a successful, seven-year run..
After 8 years as Strange Music's self proclaimed black sheep, 2011 marks the first official studio album for Indie Icon Tech N9ne’s former number one henchman. Skatterman has elevated his game even further since his separation from right hand man Snug Brim to develop a new sound and forge a new direction from a now solitary and more personal point of view.
With his new imprint "BiggShot Music and Films" and longtime friend, manager and business partner Eric Hawke, Skatterman is prepping the field for a Midwest movement the likes of which has never been seen. With the inaugural Mixtape “This is Kansas City; Vol. 1” and the subsequent release in November 2009 of "The Cook Book; Recipe 1", the industry veteran, breaks new barriers and provides fans with a little more insight into life away from his previous label base. Now after over 500 shows with Tech N9ne, Mims, Lil Flip and Paul Wall among others, Skatterman is ready to leave his own indelible mark on the music game.

Spring ushers in new things a season when everything turns green. Spring 2011 in particular, haters and detractors will be green with envy as the notorious KC Underboss Skatterman, drops his epic first solo album "Self Made"! The new album will feature an assortment of platinum class production and guest appearances from such notables as: Paul Wall, Too $hort, Jim Jones, Bun B, Freedom Williams, MIMS, Tech N9ne and Lil Flip (aka Mr Flip Gates).
Skatterman calls the project "pissed-off."
"It's about animosity," Skatterman says. "It's about the people who think they got me where I am, when it was me." Expect the rapper to pull no punches. Given the freedom to speak entirely for himself, Skatterman plans to immortalize on wax his frustrations with the music business, false friends and broken promises. A track called "Loyalty and Betrayal" expresses Skatterman's feelings on former label Strange Music, among other themes.
Though the sounds are evolving, Skatterman is still the same person he's always been. Skatterman says. "I have a lot of trust issues -- I don't trust anybody. I'm antisocial, so I arrive solo. This is finally my opportunity to do ME."
Trust this: Skatterman's "Self Made" will drop like a sonic blast.
