Bio

Scott Conrad aka skawttie decided to take a crack at DJing in the summer of 2005 after developing a love for electronic music through radio shows such as "The Essential Mix" on BBC Radio 1. I originally got involved in genres such as Deep House, Progressive House, and some Trance, however, it wasn't until the early part of 2006 that I discovered the Breakbeat scene (although I had always known and understood the concept of a breakbeat) and started exclusively spinning Breaks.

After spinning Breaks for the better part of the next 3 years, I was left to search for other sounds & genres that I wanted to branch out to a little more. Look no further than my beginning, as I started to slowly integrate funky House beats into my sets, and eventually discovered the Nufunk, Underground Hip-Hop, and Mashup scenes. These new scenes have brought a whole new level of energy that defines not only who skawttie is as a DJ & person, but also illustrates his intense energy level of which he is NOT afraid to show in his live performances!

In 2008, I was also given the chance of a lifetime to have my own radio slot on the biggest breakbeat radio station in the world -- NSB Radio! Based in the UK, NSB Radio continues to feature some of the top names & talents in the breakbeat scene! (and skawttie is NO exception!)

2011 brings new opportunities & sets new heights to build off of coming off a big year in 2010! With more of my own re-edits & mashups, keep an eye out for skawttie to bring massive energy to ANY gig you may see him at!

You can hear skawttie on "Breakin' in the New Week" each and every Monday morning from 1-3 AM GMT (that's 7-9 PM CST on Sunday nights in the USA) on www.nsbradio.co.uk!

If you're looking to connect with Scott, you can find him on Facebook, Soundcloud, and Myspace :)
