"Skeleton Hands"

Tapped into the emotional space of early '80s post-punk, goth, and minimal synth, Skeleton Hands is the darkwave duo of Evan Scott Sharfe (vocals, bass, synth, beats, programming) and Chase Anderson (guitar, programming) from Cincinnati, Ohio. The band's moody musical parfait is layered with glacial synths, minimalist rhythms, cascading guitars, hazy vocals, and punchy bass lines that sound lifted from some long-lost band on Factory Records.

The gloomy allure emanating from the duo's darkly melodic offerrings will appeal not only to fans of The Cure, Joy Division, New Order, and Depeche Mode, but to everyone who craves the bleak romantic end of new wave. If you are still not convinced, one listen to the new single Ravage will get you hooked in no time. - Bynar's Indie Disco

"Strangeways Artist Spotlight: Skeleton Hands"

Skeleton Hands, a Dark-Synth duo from Cincinnati, OH employ that Retro 80's New Wave sound we love so much. With no full length release under the belts yet, their sporadic tracks have quickly become favorites amongst the Strangeways Radio DJs and listeners.

Skeleton Hands is comprised of only two, Lazer Bat, master of rhythm, atmosphere, and words; and Astro Wolf, an axe-wielding, melodic beast of prey who gets his powers from the moon. However, together they concoct a sound reminiscent of both the pioneers of electronic music as well as the post-punk movement all with a joyful darkness that rumbles the floor and circles the atmosphere.

City Lights, a track from their 2011 Crystalline Dreams EP graces many a year-end best of list. Along with backing track, Dotted Lines, the EP is available through the Skeleton Hands Bandcamp site at a Name Your Price.

Toward the end of the year, they released the wonderful Dark Synth single Ravage, and an EP of Remixes also available thru Bandcamp at a Name Your Price.

On their official site, in the Songs of Songs section, they have also made available, covers of Ministry’s Same Old Madness and an amazing must-hear version of Parallels’ Dry Blood.

The duo are currently busy recording songs for their full-length debut, tentatively titled Gone and playing a few shows close to home. Stay tuned to Strangeways Radio for advance listens as new tracks are recorded.

- The Scrap Mag

"SKELETON HANDS | Crystalline Dreams"

Skeleton Hands is a self-described dark-wave duo from Cincinnati, Ohio — and they make music to make the bones dance and rattle. Their two-track EP, “Crystalline Dreams” (available at the group’s bandcamp page), features foreboding and sorrowful vocals with an upbeat 80s-synth aesthetic. The album opener, “City Lights”, begins with a jumping beat and skittering synth — like goth-goes-dancing. It’s atmosphere is colorful and stylishly romantic. The band consists of singer Lazar-Bat (aka Evan Scott Sharfe) who also works the bass, synth, beats, and programming. The group also includes Astro-Wolf (aka Chase Anderson) on guitar and programming. – David D. Robbins Jr. - their bated breath

Bio

As the moon shown down into the deep, cavernous landscape so did Skeleton Hands; when two pioneers of the outer reaches came together to conquer the dark and the light.
