"Ypsi five-piece headed by bros Jonathan and Jeremy Edwards, singer-guitarist and drummer, respectively. Jonathan is blessed with a bell-like voice that rings with natural profundity, and some songs swing easy like boyhood lullabies; they're deceptively simple, but can also flat-out rock: "Burning Houses" is as close to a perfect pop song as you can get. This is a Blowout sleeper band. What's in the water up there in Ypsilanti?"

Bio
Skeletons Birds began in 2008 after Jonathan and Jeremy Edwards concluded their successful run as the guitarist and drummer, respectively, for the Silent Years. Jonathan began writing and recording at a furious pace, developing songs based in roots-rock but with extreme experimental leanings. The end result of their toil was "The Owl."
In 2009, the brothers recruited Storm Ross, Scott Brown, and Jesse Tack to form a full-fledged band, developing the strengths found on "The Owl" while moving in a more complex and elaborate direction. Skeleton Birds began playing shows almost immediately after solidifying their lineup. In a short period of time they have played some of Michigan's biggest music events, including the D.I.Y. Street Fair, Mittenfest, and the upcoming Metro Times Blowout, as well as playing regularly at such esteemed Michigan venues as the Blind Pig, the Elbow Room, the Savoy, Canterbury House, the Dreamland Theater, and the Pike Room.
2011 promises to be a banner year for Skeleton Birds. Besides the aforementioned Metro Times Blowout, the band will be releasing their second album after months of hard work, collaboration, and studio experimentation. The band also plans on playing more shows than ever, sharing their unique blend of music with as many people as possible.
