Combining Eastern harmonies, classical abstraction, and driving energy, skeletonbreath is coming at rock music from their own angle. Abrasive yet melodic, intricate yet frenzied, the band transforms virtousity into something much more exciting.
Citing Bela Bartok, Bernard Hermann, and the Pixies as influences, this instrumental violin/bass/drums trio has been playing since 2004, touring the US frequently and developing a devoted (and growing) fan base. Although they have called various parts of the country their home, they now reside in New York City.
"The band is unique. Their sound is a tightly bonded amalgamation of musical elements, set on a classical base, that defies definition. They're dynamic and disquiet - fond of sudden, explosive bursts of auditory mayhem that resonate in your head like a string of firecrackers."

"As accurate as 'Halloween party music' (their description) and
'Transylvanian surf rock' (my description) are in describing their
sound, neither conveys how completely not campy they were live.
Instead, violinist Robert Pycior's fiery strokes gave the music a
restless gypsy spirit and a swooning eastern passion."

Talk about energy! Wow! Solid bass, fluid electric violin, and hyperkinetic drumming demanded attention. This young band delivered some serious hard, inventive stuff. Their short set left me spent but wanting more! I see a bright future for these guys.
