First CD "Paint The Rain" enabled us to jump on the music scene in a huge way... Our new material is finished and hopefully will be released by years end. It is a totally new sound from the first CD. We have had some success in getting airplay on both radio and online stations... Look us up.

SkEtcHbOOk formed in 1998 ,and the following year jumped into the spotlight as a little blues/rock riff "U.S Open Blues" caught fire and was the golf worlds biggest hit during the 1999 US Open Golf Tournament in Pinehurst NC .Fueling the chaos was radio and broadcasts by every major TV network, especially NBC .Newspapers as small as the Siler City News to national giants like USA Today all wrote articles detailing the band and their hit song. The biggest splash however came when The Golf Channel heard about the situation and called SkEtcHbOOk to see about flying up to do a video of the band. It went very well and they broadcast it world wide seven times during their coverage of the tournament with over 80 million people seeing and hearing the band.. As you can imagine this opened many doors for SkEtcHbOOk. Here are few of the highlights: Opening for 1999's biggest act Shania Twain at the Walnut Creek Ampitheater in Raleigh NC which is a regular stop on everybodies tour, opening for Josh Joplin and Uncle Cracker at The Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic at the Greensboro Coliseum, and a kick off concert for the Atlantic Coast Conference basketball tournament at the Greensboro Coliseum. The band has also opened for Sister Hazel, PKM, and Doc Holiday...Later SkEtcHbOOk was asked to write a song for the American Cancer Societies national compilation Cd which sold 80,000 copies nationwide at Relay for Life Events. Sketchbook's song "Difference"was an instant favorite at these events and helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for cancer research .These oppurtunities have opened just about every door musically for the band as they continue to expose more and more people to their unique sound.... As big things continued to happen, ESPN flew the band to New York City to do their show Cold Pizza live.. It was a segiment that several major national artists like Staind, GooGoo Dolls, Three Doors Down and others had played the few weeks before SkEtchbOOk. The band also headlined the famous music icon venue CBGB's while in New York. ............................SkEtcHbOOk as a band, is about as diverse musically as their personalities and backgrounds. Mixed, you get probably the most eclectic mix of music ever heard in just one set. Add to that musical influences such as traditional celtic music, classical guitar from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, delta blues, indie rock, The Who, The Doors, Ronnie James Dio, Blackfoot, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. In the North Carolina music scene SkEtcHbOOk stands apart from other bands not intentionally , but only because they can't help but to stand out . Due to the age difference, physical appearence, musical backgrounds and influences, political views, dress, occupations, etc. these guys, as you can imagine, get along best when they are putting their musical ideas together in a new and original way. SkEtcHbOOk fans are also as diverse as the music. A wide audience ranging from 15 to 60 years of age is not unusual at Sketchbook shows. Despite the age difference fans would probably tell you that they appreciate the on stage comfort and repoire the four members of SkEtcHbOOk have with each other while performing. The music is rock-pop/rock- light alternative--with some R&B background.. We all 4 write and sing making it very hard to put in a specific category..
