Bio
Heavily influenced by guitar pickers and song writers such as Elliott Smith and Townes van Zandt and by self revealing and introspective lyricists such as Conor Oberst singer-songwriter Fredrik Kjellman started writing songs of his own in his late twenties.
Initially the sound was rather minimalistic mainly consisting of acoustic and the occasional electric guitars but as the song writing progressed more and more instruments such as banjos, mandolins, keyboards, drums etc. came in to play.
Working as the sole creative of the project for the first 2 albums playing all instruments and producing all cover artwork and whilst working on a minimal budget and recording/producing the music in the living room of his apartment Sketchy Lines was initially a one man DIY-project in every aspect.
For the recent full length album Follow Me Around released on Dec 14th 2019 studio musician Arild Wahl became the second source of creative input playing the drums and taking care of the mastering process.
Reviewers have compared the sound to acts such as Conor Oberst, Kurt Vile, Jeff Tweedy, Sun Kil Moon, The Tallest Man on Earth to mention a few.
