Skid"Nevely

Skid"Nevely

BandRockPunk

Punch line melodies and high energy best describes Skid"Nevely. This quartet from Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean mixes punk rock and steelpan with a little techno loop here and there to create a new genre Steelrock.

Biography

The force of music has proven strong enough to pull together four young Trinidadians from different cultures to become one powerful vehicle: the sound of Skid”Nevely.

After living in St. Lucia for sixteen years, arranging for a well-known steelpan orchestra, Andrew McIntosh returns to his homeland Trinidad, prepared to make his imaginings of a rock band a reality. Shallun Sammy is just as ready for the ride as he constantly practises his bass lines. Shane de Silva jumps on board with a wealth of experience in rocking out, and the final element, shredding drumsticks by the hour, Anthony Abraham.

Skid”Nevely is a band breaking every red light and Stop sign in their way. Too lively to be confined by the rules, their energy flows out into their steelpunk/rock music and jumps out at the audience onstage. They are busy creating a sound like no other, blending punch-line melody rock music with a tenor steelpan and calypso rhythms.

Sure to raise some eyebrows on the way and invite laughter with their onstage behaviour and good humour, Skid”Nevely is ready for the road, taking every listener along for an unforgettable ride.

Plot

I’ll stare at you for every second that I can Watch the big hand lag behind the little hand Feel the moments slowly slip away Slowly tears roll down your face And I hate this plot I don’t want to go on Never knowing if it could be as good as it should Now I’m moving on and on through it all on my own Faintly breathing without air it’s not fair I can’t bare That you’re leaving home It’s such a shame now That you’re leaving home It’s not the same now The story ends today I thought I heard them say “Maybe it wont hurt as much as you think it will” Until your part is torn away And I hate this plot I don’t want to go on  Never knowing if it could be as good as it should Now I’m moving on and on through it all on my own Faintly breathing without air it’s not fair I can’t bare That you’re leaving home Nothing remains now That you’re leaving home I’ll go insane now That you’re leaving home AND SHOOT YOUR PLANE DOWN TO THE GROUND Take one more step away I’ll see you one last time It’s not just someone leaving but all that was mine Kill whoever wrote this rewrite all the plans If your dare wave “goodbye” I’LL BREAK OFF BOTH YOUR HANDS Hate this plot I don’t want to go on Never knowing if it could be as good as it should NOW I’M MOVING on and on through it all on my own Faintly breathing without air it’s not fair I cant bare That you’re leaving home This place has lost all meaning I’ll wait for you to come back home

She's So His
Music & Lyrics by Andrew Mc Intosh © 2005

The view from here is great Can’t take the growing rate of all the things I feel because of her And I gotta read between the lines Can’t have what is not mine Feel free to slap me if I stop and stare As I’m reminded why this world is so unfair Cause she’s all I ever wanted God damn this song this is so wrong She’s all I ever wanted I’ll run away and flee But she’s all I ever wanted And I’ll be on my way Cause she’s so me But she’s so his The same as yesterday I’ll just get in the way with all the things she does when I’m around And I can’t help but crack a smile Maybe I’m in denial At least I don’t look back when she stares As I’m reminded why this world is so unfair Cause she’s all I ever wanted God damn this song this is so wrong She’s all I ever wanted I’ll run away and flee But she’s all I ever wanted And I’ll be on my way Cause she’s so me But she’s so his To call on the phone To be all alone with And now I’m waiting All alone (x4) Cause she’s all I ever wanted She’s so all I ever wanted (x3) But she’s so his I often stop and wonder if there could be another like her

Way Too Long

Written By: Andrew Mc Intosh

The walls are pretty boring
They tell the same old story
I’ll have to start it over
I missed a crack
I’ve felt it before and I want it back
So won’t you stay awhile?
As more than just a style
For longer than a mile
I’ve waited for a while
That’s way too long

The world is pretty boring
And no one’s keeping score
I’d like to start it over and escape your crap
I’ve felt it before and I want it back
So won’t you stay awhile?
As more than just a style
For longer than a mile
I’ve waited for a while
That’s way too long
Way too long all is wrong for way too long

I didn’t ask for this didn’t ask for
Why don’t I make your list?
Won’t you stay awhile?
As more than just a style
For longer than a mile
I’ve waited for a while
That’s way too long (x2)

So won’t you
Come in and sit down
Stay here with me for awhile
‘Bout time you came around
Stay here with me for awhile
I’ve waited way too long
