“Summer 2010 will belong to Skilla”
- Groove, 2009

“Swedens BEST new band!”
- Jesper Heed, head of Peace and Love Festival, Sweden

“I love the inventiveness and courage to step outside the box and away from the expected.””I hope the quintett never leans back, sandpapers down the edges and subordinates themselves”
- Robert Ryttman, Zero Magazine

Skilla has a lot of live show experience! These last two years they’ve been touring Sweden, Norway, Latvia, Estonia, Germany and Denmark and on top of that they played on Swedens biggest festival this summer, Peace & Love! In june, they released the single “Summer In December” from their debut album “To our mums and dads, brothers and sisters, friends and lovers”, which was released in Sweden this october. Their music gets extremely appriciated where ever they go, and they’ve been named “Swedens BEST new band” by Jesper Heed, head of Peace & Love festival.

Skilla convinces the listener with their quivering energy! Though their music is, mildly said, hard to put down in words, people have tried, and come pretty close, by calling it “a strange, attractive, meltdown between folk, pop, art music and drama.” The lead singer, Nina Christensen, has a very strong voice wich has been compared too Björk, Gwen Stefani, Karin Dreijer (The Knife) and PJ Harvey, but at the same time, her voice doesn’t sound like anything you’ve heard before! Nina and the rest of Skilla, a bomb of energy (Amanda Savbrant, Elin Hörberg, Vanja Gottlow and Lisa Godin) AND a violin, makes a well oiled, organic emotion-factory that results in a flashing explosion on stage!

Review from Groove, Swedens largest music magazine:

“It feels very liberating to listen to Skillas sneeking pop mcuic. These five girls from Malmö take their music and send it right into the root of your heart, with the poteintial megahit “Summer In December” in the front. And with the violin and Nina Christensens magical voice up front they deliver a unique sound to be freshened by. That this record with the complicated title is their debut is hard to believe, the girls deliver a vibe mature enough to make you fall down on your knees. A really, really exciting album which they probably can open a lot of foreign doors with.”
