Bio

SKITZO a.k.a. Robert Saghai, was born at 12:01am, June 29, 1984 on the Missouri side of Kansas City, and grew up just across the bridge on the Kansas side. Influences from both sides of the bridge make him who he is and gives him the nickname The Midwest King.

His passion for music started at a very young age when his parents bought a bass guitar as his first instrument. After playing the guitar for a few years, that passion encouraged him to be lyrical as well. A life of lyrics were piling up when one day at school, he heard his friends talking about a studio they could go to and record free of charge. He took the statement to heart and called on OVADOSE, a local rapper from KC. His first session was enough to convince him to commit to being a lyricist. After a brief stint with OVADOSE, things decimated and they were no longer friends, sending SKITZO off in his own direction.

On this journey he found himself amidst a group of talented artists that clicked and decided on the name KC'S FINEST. The group consisted of three rappers, SKITZO, RICH, & KELO. Together they produced three full CD's which they hustled out of their cars. This lead to a relationship with MALAKAI of Killa City Entertainment that produced six more tracks as a group and introduced them to gigs at local clubs. After their first show, circumstances involving a member's girlfriend made it hard for the group to get along and would eventually lead to their split. It would take more than some soap opera drama to keep SKITZO off the mic.

An advertisement on the radio about auditions for the KHALABO Entertainment Talent Tour set a man on a mission. SKITZO showed up to the auditions with a demo and a set that blew the judge's minds. He earned a slot in the competition, but unfortunately never took stage because of an issue of running over on time. Another hit of drama still wouldn’t phase him. It would be just a few weeks before his next shot at earning his due respect as a lyricist came to him. Another audition, once again the judges loved what he had to offer. This time he was rewarded with a trip to Chicago, Illinois to the GENERATION ONE: GET SEEN, GET SIGNED TOUR. This included a music convention and a long day of meeting with many producers and music execs., including Leymoyne 'LA' Alexander, CEO & Producer of Chicago based 8TH Wonder Entertainment. It wasn’t long before he was sent and signed a demo agreement with them. The beats were provided and SKITZO worked his magic giving up three tracks produced by close friend JD of TIME BOMB Entertainment back in KC. This taste of success has armed him with a manager, an agent, and his entourage of friends and family ready to announce The Midwest King to the world.
