Witness any of the live performances of lyricist, songwriter and entertainer Skotch Davis and your faith in real music will undoubtedly be solidified. Harlem native, Skotch Davis is widely known for his innovative delivery and engaging stage presence He is a trailblazer who has carved his own niche in the Hip Hop scene by bubbling the underground and pushing the creative envelope beyond its traditional borders.

"I like to call my music progressive Hip Hop because it’s eclectic yet thought-provoking," Davis explains. "The only way to broaden people's minds is by widening their scope."
Skotch Davis’ impressive musical pedigree is the cornerstone of his talent. He credits his childhood, growing up in a household filled with the soulful sounds of classic and contemporary R&B for providing him with the tools necessary to solidify a foundation as a true musician. His father, acclaimed musician Vincent Henry, spent more than 30 years as a working artist. He contributed to numerous Broadway productions and national television specials as well as performed with chart topping R&B acts such as Whitney Houston and Freddie Jackson. This early exposure to quality musicianship is what sets Skotch Davis apart from others who may fall into his lane. If you ever witness Skotch rehearsing with his band you will realize he has the "ear for the right sound" and this coupled with his genuine passion and love for music is what gives him the longevity it takes to really make a living with music.

Skotch's mother, legendary New York City nightclub promoter, Maria Davis, was one of the industry's first female success stories as her signature showcases reinvigorated New York nightlife while helping to launch the careers of some of today's hottest artists. Mrs. Davis remains Skotch's inspiration as his musical career progresses to this day. As a result of her work ethic and no-bull “get it done” mentality, Skotch was able to gain industry sense, break into the music scene at an early age and begin working as an intern at a major record label in 2001. Simultaneously, Skotch spent hours developing his production and lyrical ability in the company of respected industry notables such as Salaam Remi, Red Spyda, Vic Flowers and Stay Bent to name a few. But, it wasn't until he formed a partnership with the Natural Born Builders (NBB Music), a collective of musically proficient relatives and close friends, that Skotch's career as a musician started to manifest.

In the fall of 2008, Skotch moved to Los Angeles to team up with local burgeoning creative outfit, LAX Paperboys and their Just Be Cool Campaign. LAX’s Be Cool Music & Marketing Group (BCMG) was the perfect fit for Skotch and his progressive style. He immediately began performing and establishing a nationwide fan base from coast to coast. Whether Skotch is performing with his organic and self-directed live band, or rocking the crowd on the track, Davis is continuously raising the bar and placing himself in a position to become a household name worldwide.

Skotch Davis' debut EP, "What Took So Long...Again" is now available on iTunes, and a host of other e-music retailers throughout the web. Skotch is currently preparing to release a project titled "Skotch Tape" in a partnership with the Lifted Research Apparel Group.
