Bio

Recording Artist Skrap Dawg

Skrap Dawg is not a Houston Hip Hop Artist. He is a Hip Hop Artist who happens to be from Houston. One can not stereotype this artist as another "Dirty South" rapper. Skrap Dawg has a swagger and style of his own. He is to be one of the Greats in the Hip hop industry. He has the flow of the late Christopher "Biggie Smalls" Wallace, the depth as the late Tupac Shakur, the delivery as Scarface, the swagger on stage as the Great Jay Z, and the business sense as Sean "Diddy" Combs. Skrap has somehow managed to brew inside himself the qualities of all the greats mentioned above and created this super hip hop mugule that will not be touched!

Skrap Dawg was born in the third ward district of Houston, Texas. As early as twelve years old, Skrap picked up the mic and haven't put it down since. In the early nineties, Skrap was part of a well known Rap Group called the Jump Out Boys. The group became overnite celebrities in Texas and parts of Louisiana. They made so much noise that a few major labels had a close eye on the group. Later, because of mismanagement and big egos, the group dismanteled and it was every artist for himself. Skrap then packed his bags and headed to Atlanta, Ga. Although Skrap left behind the unlimited access to producers he had in Houston, while in Altanta, Skrap never put down the pen and pad. He continued to write his music. In fact, he began to write some of his best work to date. While stepping out of the hood and the situations of his surrounding in Houston, Skrap began to understand his purpose in life. He recieved spiritual enlightment from his spritual mentor, Creflo Dollar. He understood that he had a purpose to touch people lives through his music and his way of life. While getting full of knowlegde for the soul, he was also studing something else. He began studing the music business. He studied all musical greats from the old and of that time. He learned what made them successful, what made them fail. He dissected hit songs, and developed formulas on why they were a success. He may not have received a master in music, but he became a Music Master. In three years, Skrap mediated on what he learn and perfected his craft. By the time Skrap returned to Houston, he became a force to be reckoned with.

In 2007 Skrap founded his label BBE (Barrier Breakers Ent). Skrap Dawg released his album "Breath of Fresh Air - Back to the basics". This album consists of 15 original songs and 5 "Jazz- Hop" tracks. Skrap has so much music in him that by demand of his fans, he is scheduled to release not one but TWO ancore mixtape albums to accompany the Breath of Fresh Air Album. The first mixtape album is an solo Skrap Dawg cd with the exception of one feature, his son, Yung Spitta. The second mixtape album is a compalitation of artists that are affliated with Skrap Dawg and his label Barrier Breakers Ent.
