Biography

Singer/songwriter performer Skye, getting the word out as she continues to write her music with an alternative folk-rock style influence. The name Skye comes from Susan Mays Scottish descent and her grandparents were also music lovers playing as a small group throughout the Hull/Gatineau regions of Quebec in the early days of the 1940's & 50's, with her grandfather often playing a bango & harmonica, grandmother on violin/fiddle, uncles on drums & guitar.

Born in Ottawa, Ontario in the 60's, a valley girl, she has worked with local theaters on various musical productions...but has recently been inspired in writing her own songs & playing her acoustic guitar the past few years.

Last year after acquiring an electric guitar... has no doubt created more challenges allowing to experiment with some blues influences. Future projects include adding some drums & bass to her style of music as well.

Change These Times

Trees that grow;

Wind that blows,

Birds that fly,

Clouds go by,

Mountains sitting high;

Pollution in our skies

Chorus:
Change these times….change our ways now
For the future that awaits us
If destruction takes this place
Are we counting down the days?

Cold and rain,

Hurt and pain,

Food we eat;

Thoughts we think,

Do we need guns & bombs?

Why can’t we get along?

Chorus:
Change these times….change our ways now
For the future that awaits us
If destruction takes this place
Are we counting down the days?

Child at birth;

Best and worst;

Hearts and souls,

Young and old

Effects the planet Earth

Part of this universe

Chorus: ---Repeat again twice

Hold Me

Hold Me
Music & Lyrics by Skye Copyright © May 2006

Wake up to another day
lying there as I fade away
alarm goes off
It’s only just a dream

Drag yourself up out of bed
the caffeine hasn’t hit’ cha yet
Can barely keep my head up off my knees

[Chorus:]
Hold…… me
Until……I sleep
Hold…… me please
While… I sleep

Many times I wonder why
When I’ve given up & the tears flow by
You’re always there to stand me on my feet

Days and nights seem to pass
Memories are fading fast
But the one of you will always stay with me

[Chorus:]
Hold …me
Until I sleep
Hold …me please
While I sleep

Repeat …. “Instrumental only”.... music of last verse & chorus…]

When I feel defeated
And Think I’m at the end
Knowing that I’ve fallen in my path

Those simple words of wisdom
That you whisper in my ear
When you’re lying there next to me

[Chorus:]
Hold ….me
Until.... I sleep
Hold ….me please
While..... I sleep

Strange This Life

Strange This Life
Music & Lyrics By Skye Copyright © May 2006

Strange this life
And what you’re up against
Stand up and fight… don’t compromise
It’s up to you… so don’t despair
Just be yourself and know that I’m there

Chorus—

You can’t hide… from all your lies
It will show and get you in the end
So take my hand and walk with me
And know that everything will be alright
And know that everything will be alright

(Instrumental fill piece)…………..

Hard this life
To see things as they are
T’il you realize you’ve opened up a door
In time ahead they will understand
What it means to hold my hand

Chorus—
You can’t hide…from all your lies
It will show and get you in the end
So take my hand and walk with me
And know that everything will be alright
And know that everything will be alright

Repeat Chorus:
You can’t hide… from all your lies
It will show and get you in the end
So take my hand and walk with me
And know that everything will be alright
And know that everything will be alright
And know that everything will be alright
