Dynamic singer/songwriter, master lyricist and MC SKY HY (aka Joseph Hale)
is poised to propel hip hop deep into the 21st Century with his electrifying
and visionary audio blitzkrieg that is best described as ³Afro-punk electro
soul.² Hailing from the South¹s fertile mecca ­ Atlanta (the ³ATL²) ­ this
esoteric ³brother from another planet² is hip hop¹s latest prodigal son and
pop culture alchemist fueled by a passion for a genre-defying sound that
extracts the best elements from rap¹s underground and mainstream formulas.

In 2004, Hale catapulted onto Atlanta¹s underground hip hop scene cutting
his teeth at numerous clubs and open mIc showcases. Already a ³cult hero² in
the City¹s bustling club scene, Sky became notorious for his
larger-than-life persona, soaring height (6''6") and signature renegade
fashion style ­ which he dubbed ³Voodoo Chic² (transcendental tribal couture
for the fashionably esoteric). His cavalier, carefree attitude, unique
style, distinctive Southern drawl and clean rhymes made him stand-out among
the hoards of upcoming MCs. However, that alongside his magnetic stage
presence, adept lyrical skills and musical versatility made him an instant
hit. By year¹s end, he had established himself as one of the City¹s premiere
emerging talents and received the ³Best New Artist² award at the
Undergrammy¹s - Atlanta's independent music scene¹s answer to the Grammy¹s
for emerging talent.

It was during this time that he met fellow Atlanta native and electronic
music veteran, Chris Brann. The internationally-acclaimed, multi-platinum
selling producer / remixer and DJ is renowned for his sophisticated, lush
and sublime sonic panoramas tempered with eclectic musical influences from
electronic, soulful deep house, Afro-Brazilian, Œ70s jazz-fusion and
meditative post-rock. Together, the duo set to fully realize Sky¹s enigmatic
style and progressive sonic vision creating a flavorful musical gumbo that
melds everything from classic hip hop, booty-shakin¹ funk-rock, sun-splashed
cosmic soul and gritty, bass-heavy club beats.

Armed with intelligent and positive, profanity-free rhymes delivered with a
sophisticated lyrical technique, stylistic dexterity and razor-sharp flow,
Sky waxes vibrant poetic narratives laced with his infectious off-kilter
humor combining the charismatic flair of Bootsy Collins, the raw funk of Sly
Stone, the otherworldliness of Hendrix and the introspection of Marvin Gaye
with the urban-Bohemian philosophies of Common, the sensual vulnerability of
Prince and Pharrell and the satirical playfulness of Ludacris and Redman.

The world will soon catch a glimpse of Sky¹s captivating musical
kaleidoscope and ingeniously unclassifiable fusion of fiery inner-city beats
and vivid colorful narratives with the forthcoming 12² single release ³Head
Between The Speakers² (featuring remixes from Radio 4, Tommie Sunshine and
Megablast) and 4-track EP Skillz, Thrillz and Maximum Pleazure tentatively
scheduled for an early fall release on burgeoning indie imprint KID
Recordings. The label is a joint venture between producer Chris Brann, his
longtime manager Craig Roseberry of New York-based Shifty Entertainment
artist management and marketing company, and Assaf Nathan (former King
Street Sounds Director of Business Affairs and Licensing). Distributed in
North America and Canada by the legendary West End Records, the burgeoning
indie imprint promises to be a reliable outpost for "sophisticated and
