Haltom City, TX

He passed Skyline Drive near Lake Worth.

Skyline, he thought. He liked it.

So when Shurbet and his four band mates learned last month that floods devastated Skyline Mobile Home Estates in Haltom City, they felt a kinship to their namesake.

With a little help from parents, Skyline the band has organized a benefit this Saturday for Skyline the mobile home park.

'We thought it was so ironic we had the same name,' said Shurbet, the 16-year-old lead singer. 'We knew there was something we could do.' Read more

Bio

If you haven't heard of this band yet, get ready! They are taking the metroplex by storm with their high level of energy and original lyrics. This band is made up of five very talented young men who each bring large amounts of unigueness and talent to every show.
Jordan Shurbet had a dream of starting his own band. His dream became reality with the help of four very talented close friends. Thus began Skyline! Jordan is the lead vocal and rhythm guitar player. He spends endless hours writing all the lyrics for Skyline. They recorded a five song LP in Nashville through Baldwin Entertainment in November 2007. And just released the eleven song EP "A Million Kisses" in March of 2008. Jordan continues to write relevant to life lyrics for new songs to come. Jordan has had a passion for music for many years and began by playing in his praise band at church. Jordan has become a great bandleader so that Skyline becomes "the band to be"!
Josiah Maughan is the lead guitar player and also sings back up vocals. He writes all the music for each of the other band members. Josiah has a natural talent for music and also began by playing for his praise band at church. Before Skyline, he was taking every opportunity to be involved in music events to showcase his talents. He brings energy to the band that only a lead guitarist can do!
Chris Patton is the drummer for Skyline. He began playing in the marching band at school and also in the drum line. Chris pulls the band together as he keeps the rhythm going in each song with his great amount of energy!
Keagan Davidson is the bass guitar player for Skyline. He has been playing bass for six years and began by playing in his praise band at church. Keagan is very committed to the band by driving two hours a day for rehearsal, proving his dedication. His style of playing adds character to every show!
Shawn Darwin is the keyboardist for Skyline. He has been playing piano for 12 years. He adds flavor to the music with his catchy synths and riffs and his own unique style of play. Shawn has a way of getting the crowd involved in each performance with his enthusiasm and leadership skills.
Skyline was just asked to be the featured artist in the "Kidz Across America" tv commercial. They also put on a charity concert to benefit the displaced families who lost their homes in the flooding. This event brought national attention to Skyline being broadcast on all tv stations and all radio stations. Our congresswoman, Kay Grainger, and the mayor both showed up to speak on behalf of Skyline and their efforts that raised thousands of dollars for these homeless families. Skyline was recently invited to broadcast live for the radio station urradio.com where they did an hour show with live music and interviews. Skyline had the honor of being the opening band for "Fireflight" at their recent concert in Fort Worth, Texas. Skyline stays booked playing many venues in Fort Worth, Dallas, and Austin, Tx. They play many school events as well as college and private parties. They are a member of the Artsnet, which books them for city events such as festivals and town square gatherings. They are so versital, gearing each show to fit the venue's individual needs. Their shows are packed with high energy and enthusiasm! Skyline is a name you don't want to forget.........
