Bio
Skyrocket will make you feel emotions you didn't even know existed. We are about passion and honesty, but we are not about whining and self-pity. We are about musicianship and showmanship, but not self-indulgence. We are all drama and emotion, mounting tension and spectacular release.
On the release of our remastered EP and a major marketing effort, Skyrocket's song “Breathless” hit #1 in both the Indie and Pop charts and #3 overall for unsigned groups on purevolume.com. Of people who listened to our songs, well over 10% actually downloaded the songs to their computer. On the most recent day, 13.8% of plays resulted in a visitor downloading the song to their library. Numerous fans even took the time to e-mail or IM their appreciation of the songs, and fans from all over the country have asked us to play in their area soon.
Skyrocket has been working hard to build a fanbase in their hometown of Providence, nearby Boston, and the surrounding areas. We've received airplay on 95.5 WBRU, Providence's #1 rock station, including a well-received live acoustic set for their local music show. In roughly 10 months since forming, Skyrocket has played a wide variety of venues, including the Middle East, the Call, PA's Lounge, AS220, the Perishable Theater, Jarrod's Place, the Underground (Providence), and numerous college events, including headlining Brown University's Spring Weekend Friday concert to an exuberant hometown audience of several hundred.
This September Skyrocket has been invited to play at the Scorcher festival in McAllen, Texas, a major cultural event in South Texas with an expected attendance of 20,000. Skyrocket will be receiving a review in RGV, and will be playing gigs in the area with other bands from the festival for publicity.
