Skywarden

Skywarden is a 4-piece rock band from the Twin Cities and St. Cloud areas of Minnesota. Melding powerful vocals, blues-rooted solos and driving beats, Skywarden puts forth a powerful message with its music, which is largely inspired by faith and life experiences.

In February of 2006, brothers Arman and Adam Tagarro approached Paul Dirkse to see if he would be interested in a jam session, with hopes of possibly starting a 3-piece band of some sort. Paul agreed, and offered to bring his cousin Jason Flateland along to play as well. The guys melded instantly, deciding to form a band that very night. After some deliberation, they chose the name "Silversmith" and went by that name until 2009, playing shows anywhere from youth groups to bars in the Twin Cities. After a name conflict with another band, Silversmith renamed themselves "Skywarden".

In 2007, Silversmith was chosen to be in the top 12 bands to compete for the Basilica Block Party Battle of the Bands. Silversmith didn't win, but was honored to participate in the top 12. Silversmith also placed 3rd in the Rockin' 101 Battle of the Bands hosted by Rockin' 101 in 2009. In 2010, they did even better, placing 2nd out of 8 great bands at the Rockin' 101 Battle of the Bands under their new name, Skywarden.
