"NC SCENESTER E-ZINE"

"With a scene full of Underoath & Glassjaw rip off bands, Skywire’s the ONE band stepping on new territory with the ability to write great songs. With the ability and craftsmanship to play as soft and beautiful as music can be, then as aggressive as any hardcore band out today; this is something special."-N.C. Scenester

"Skywire in Vietnam Publication"

“Skywire’s music holds passion and topics about love, what’s beyond this life and artistic views. They are looked at as being very art based in their lyrics. They aren’t emo, they aren’t nu-metal, and they aren’t hardcore. They have managed to blend an underground sound into a mainstream fit that is working wonders for them!” -Thanh Nien Daily - Thanh Nien Daily

Poetry Rock.

Skywire was formed by 4 high school friends in the summer of 2005. After a few line up changes and a few years of touring-the band recorded their first album titled “The Roots Run Deeper” (2006). The album showcased a 6 song disc that pushed the song “Leaves” and “Polaris” to gain the attention of local Clear Channel Radio Station 96.1 (WBBB) and was featured on the radio along with several other stations around North Carolina.

The band was hand picked by judges at the Warped Tour Battle of the Bands contest (Ernie Ball) out of 13,500 bands to perform on select dates with the huge summer festival Warped Tour 2007. The band shared the stage with Mustard Plug, The Chariot, My American Heart, Evaline, and Throwdown that year.

The band went in to record their second CD and first full length debut disc titled “To Write On The Hearts Of Others” (2008) which featured 13 songs. Of those songs “She (the evil)”, “Poetry Over Cell Phones”, “Doctor, Doctor” and “Anger is One Letter Away From Danger” all received radio play with “She (the evil)” gaining the band the most exposure to date. The poetry of Nick Driver can be heard throughout the disc and reviews highlighted the poetry in songs “Oceans of My Mind”, “Bronzer”, “She (the evil), “308” and “Sinai (jabal musa)”.

The band went on after the release of “To Write on the Hearts of Others” to open for the likes of Afroman, Alesana, Badfish, Less Than Jake, and more.

With an even stronger focus and a more art oriented mindset-the band will be recording and releasing demo versions of new songs for fans all over the world. The first being the emotionally-tinged, free verse poetry of “Tears”, which will be featured on the band’s myspace page this summer. The progressive, note heavy playing of guitarist Paul Leser, the heavy backbone of drumming by Patrick Leser, the dance along bass grooves of David Weaver and the linear, non-linear and cryptic poetry of Nicholas Driver has taken a new turn and the band will be releasing new material as of the summer of 2008. This is rock fused poetry.
