Comedian Edwin San Juan? Never heard of him. But after seeing this DVD I know YOU will, as this Filipino comedian will soon be a household name! I had the good fortune of seeing his DVD and I was extremely impressed. While the production was slightly lacking, the humor wasn't. Edwin's take on his family and the Filipino community is hysterical. I was almost on my back as his style of comedy is old school, as a guy who tells funny stories about his upbringing, his family and his friends. If you have seen him before, it was the following- as he has performed on BET's COMIC VIEW or Showtime’s THE LATINO LAUGH FESTIVAL. And he has performed his stand up routine at comedy clubs like the IMPROV, THE COMEDY STORE, THE COMIC STRIP and THE LAUGH FACTORY. Edwin’s DVD can be found on his website for sale at www.edwinsanjuan.net. The DVD was produced by Monkey’s Uncle Productions. Pass it on! Now You know the truth!

Paul Ogata won the title of the Funniest Asian-American Comedian In The U.S., at the nation-wide TakeOut Comedy Competition. With the finals on Paul’s home turf of Waikiki Beach, he pulled off the victory and won the title. (Tiara and scepter not included.) “Amazing Asian,” a short film starring Paul Ogata as an under-appreciated superhero, premiered to sold-out crowds in Honolulu in May of 2004. The comedy is now headed to the Hawaii International Film Festival as well as film festivals on the West Coast. Paul is also an award-winning recording artist. “Mental Oriental” hit the record stores to good reviews and propelled Paul to win the 1999 Hawaii Music Award for Most Popular Comedy Artist. www.PaulOgata.com

Bernadette Balagtas grew up in the Philippines. Her parents struggled to bring her and her three sisters to America in hopes of providing a better life. Once in America, Bernadette’s main goal was to be a contestant on the legendary game show “The Price is Right”. While in the Philippines, she saw a man win a washer and dryer by bidding one dollar and thought to herself, “Wow, only in America.” Her big break came when she beat out over a thousand girls for the lead role of Rose Mercado in the critically acclaimed movie “The Debut”. This ground breaking film is the first Filipino-American movie ever made and released in the United States. Roger Ebert gave it a “thumbs up” and stated that “newcomer Bernadette Balagtas has marquis potential”. www.bernadettelive.com
