Biography

Slant of Light formed as an acoustic/electric rock band in the fall of 2009 in an apartment in Somerville. The sound slowly morphed over the next three years to become more Americana and bluegrass, with only acoustic instrumentation and three-part harmonies. Now, with Kevin Harvey playing upright bass, M.E. Foley playing acoustic guitar, and Aaron Zak playing banjo and light percussion, they have settled into their sound.

The new 7” single was recorded at Mad Oak in Allston, and has a crisp, warm feel influenced by Brown Bird, Devil Makes Three, and Bon Iver. Slant of Light was recently featured on Unregular Radio in January, is planning a vinyl release party for June, and plans to record a full-length album this winter.
