Bio
Slap That Kid is an alternative rock band based out of Stamford, CT. The band is comprised of 4 members with varying backgrounds - funk, new wave and rock, which when put together produces a great sound and unique hooks that you can't keep your ears off of.
Performing for over 3 years, the band has developed a tight and original sound all its own. Lodged somewhere between the Chili Peppers and System of a Down, Slap That Kid has won over audiences throughout the world. Selling t-shirts and CD's to fans from Maine to Germany, California to the UK, the band is promoting and people are listening. They have developed a solid fan base that has resulted in them winning second place in the Connecticut Rock Awards "People's Choice" Award, as well as multiple battles of the bands. In June, 2004, Slap That Kid's song "Back Around" earned them an "Honorable Mention" in the 7th Cooch Music Amateur Songwriting Competition - one of only 7 prizes awarded out of several thousand applicants. Equally as noteworthy is their standing on www.soundclick.com - a website dedicated to the up-and-coming bands throughout the world. Slap That Kid's song, "The Life After" is consistently in the top 10 most played alternative songs, and their songs are played upwards of 5,000 times per month across over 40 countries.
