Bio

SLEDD BIO: Hailing from San Diego’s East County, the boys of Sledd are seasoned veterans in the rock music world. Originally formed in 1995 by brothers Dino and Peter DeLuke, the act quickly enjoyed some success touring regionally with acts like “The Vince Neil Band”, “Kings X” , "Quiet Riot" and “Gary Hoey” just to name a few.

The band has had some lineup changes, but has always been a band with a different feel. The original lineup included Dino DeLuke on drums, Peter DeLuke on Keyboards, Cary Rothman on Vocals, Mike Femenela Lead Guitar and Doug Johnston on Bass. The band stayed in tact through 2005, recording two albums worth of tracks working with producers Mark Kendall, Al Pitrelli, and Jim Feraci. The first of the two was called Dopamine, which was an eleven song recording launch for the five-piece group. The band on their own sold 5,000 copies of the CD. The remaining tracks have yet to be released.

Sledd has played all over the Southern California circuit, and developed a fan base that has remained loyal to this day. In 2005, Sledd parted ways with original guitar player Mike Femenela and original bassist Doug Johnston. It signaled a changing of the guard, and opened up the opportunity to work with a new guitar section and subsequently a new sound arose. As they loosened up their writing skills, they also loosened up their tuning pegs and sheered in a new deep rough sound. They worked with Lead Guitarist Eric Meyer (Brickbath) for about a year, writing Jump, Remember, Shine Down, Say you will and Back When. Bass player Steve Mumma, who replaced Johnston around the same time, also plays bass on those songs. The grooves were deep and heavy and became what you hear now as the new Sledd sound. In May 2007, the band and Eric Meyer decided to part ways so Eric could work on his own project. The new sound was set though, and fans were digging the new sound. To fill the void left by Eric, the band brought in guitarist Keith Greenwood. Keith brings a fresh attitude and tasty riffs to the band and now the next step lies ahead, gigging, recording and touring.

The band is currently recording tracks for their forthcoming album at Strate Sound Recording Studios in Santee, CA with renowned Producer Alan Sanderson (Rolling Stones, System of a Down, Weezer) which will be released sometime in the fall.
